It really depends on what your website is about and where most of your visitors are from i.e. UK, USA or elsewhere, but https://www.tradedoubler.com is an affiliate network comapny that covers a lot of big companies that are in the UK.
For example Apple, Boots, Dominos, Game, Tescos.
Its free to register and the website should give you all the info/help you need.

Also Amazon.co.uk have an affiliate scheme which is also free to register on.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks! I'm thinking of something in the area of diet/exercise, really just UK based. It would be based around a blog, so I'd like to be able to try to find adverts that relate to the content (if I mentioned a product you could buy in Boots, there would be an advert for Boots somewhere for people to click through, that kind of thing). I'm not thinking of earning mega-bucks, more of an experiment to see how it might work!

I've read Rich dad, poor dad: hadn't heard of it, but found it for 40p in charity shop some years ago. Has some really good concepts in it (for instance: your house is not an asset, but a liability), but he has a certain writing style: not for everyone. And it's a bit repetitive, so wouldn't pay full price for it. Still glad i read it though. If library takes too long, try https://www.greenmetropolis.com for discounted prices: they don't have the book itself available at the moment, but a similar one by same author on retiring early. the principles will be the same.

Amazon might be a good one then if you are talking about / reviewing books or workout DVDs.
Why do companies offer you "free gifts?"
Since when has a gift NOT been free?

I have made over £2K net profit from matched betting since Jan 18. Would never ever have ventured into this if I hadn't found the idea on MSE

I'm definitely going to look into that, Innovate - at present I know absolutely zilch about it, but am open and willing to learn!

I have read all the Rich Dad books (there's half a dozen). I made some serious money putting his ideas into practice...I bought a house which gives me a positive cashflow of £700 after expenses and which has gone up £100k in 3 years.

Gave in to temptation yesterday and bought "Rich Dad Poor Dad" and am in the middle of it now. Can always flog it on Amazon once I've read it!

What I'm doing right now to explore wealth creation:
    Reading Rich Dad Poor Dad
Doing Nicola Cairncross's free 100 day finance course
Continuing to refine my spending - this alone has freed up £150 pm that can go into share investment or something similar
    To do in near future:
Go to the next property networking event that Sukey helps run, in Yeovil - May meeting here I come
    Research matched lay betting
Research Internet marketing possibilities/using affiliate programmes
Sort an ebook - have all the necessary info to do one on Healthy Weight Loss, just need to get it into ebook format and sort ref copyright etc
Check out the Motley Fool site and its investment section
Watch the free DVD I got at the investing seminar during the week
    Do more internet research generally.
Fine tune my financial goals so I know exactly what I'm aiming for
Look to meet more like minded people to mix with, both in person and via the Internet - every else I know doesn't seem interested in wealth creation

Hope this helps give others some ideas

I looked into this a few months ago, but never went through with it - didn't have the b***s.

First off I'll explain about what I found out about ebooks:

Most ebooks sell for less than £1, so profit margins are really tight. Once you've taken off the Ebay fees, it really is very low.

Then there's the fact that most ebooks don't sell on the first time round - wasted money.

Then if you want to do it seriously, you have to send up an autoreply email system, which take some setting up.

From what I could tell, the only people making money are those who sell ebooks for more than £2, who don't have any resale rights along with the product, or the people who are selling the "how to make a fortune from selling ebooks" ebooks. I think it's the later who are making all the profits, in which case it's a form of pyramid scheme as you need to continually draw people into selling ebooks in order to make money.

I'm sure there is profit there, but on a profit/work ratio I'm sure it would perform pretty badly (maybe better off getting a paper round)

Enough of my rant against ebooks, on with the glamourous idea.

    Diamonds!

There is a large diamond jewellery company that operates on the US Ebay called Superjeweller (If I remember correctly). They sell all sort from earrings to necklaces, both buy it now and auction.

The thing is, the equivalent diamonds sell for twice as much on the UK Ebay (I looked primarily into diamond stud earrings).

The diamonds are not the highest quality, i.e. you're not going to find them in most jewellery shops in the UK, but they're still diamonds and how many people know the difference between an I and a J grade and a flawless/nearly flawless (terminology probably not correct - but you know what I mean).

Simple as that, big markup involved (£30-£300) per item.

If anyone goes ahead with this idea, don't forget me when you're multi-millionaires.

    Hope that helps someone

Id give up on e-book`s, pardon the pun there 10 a penny and you cant trace them most ones on e-bay can be downloaded free and theres even more out there than there is on ebay. iv even seen people selling DVD`s full of ebooks for £1 + p+p. you need tyo be able to see a skill or a product, alternativelty you need to come up with a idea that has interest to the mass`s that is cheap, If there isnt a large following for your idea you can assume it wont make excessive profit.

Idealy maximise the use of your skills eg if you work in IT you will have all your friends asking you to fix there PC - start charging to maximise income for your skills, Same goes for other trades, If you can program come up with something good idealy a new copy protection product ... etc
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

I can't get my head around selling an e-book for £1 - like other people have said, there can't be much profit for the effort you put in. I prefer the idea of a website which has a book available for you to order if you want. (I don't know if I'm allowed to post a link, but I'm thinking more along a site I've come across called 'weirdlist' as an example.)
