    Morning all

    welcome to the newbies
best wishes to pigpen, carol, greenbee, lady liberty and anybody else who wants them

Raining and cold, no washing today luckily.

    I've done the kitchen/diner Toots :)

I've also done the living room/hallway/computer desk/stairs. I've got the dentist and stuff tomorrow morning so I thought I'd be good and do extra today.

One of the cats seemed to think the day started at 5.08 am. I went down and kicked them out but it was pouring with rain so she just went round to the front and starting squawking which woke the dog up. Got them back in but she just started banging the kitchen door again when she was back out there and I'm worried it will wake the neighbours. So, we had an early start. Cow.

    Still catching up, back later.

    Happy Birthday maralum:bdaycake:

What's scarifying? Wondering if it's something I should be doing to my lawn as having mown it it is not in too good a state - a few bald patches. Will scarifying help

Scarifying is when you rake out all the dead stuff & moss etc, it looks awful when you first do it, but it does the grass good. I do it about 2 weeks after I've put weed & feed on it & it gets rid of the dead moss. I was 'donated' an electric scarifyer ages ago, but you can do it with a rake, it's hard work though - but very good for the stomach muscles I'm told! :D
Aerating is when you make holes in the lawn, it improves drainage & you are supposed to brush in some sharp sand (I think!) afterwards. I do mine with a fork, but not as often as I should since I stabbed my foot once!

Carol22, sorry to hear your news. It seems very unfair when the people involved are so young.

Am at work at the mo, so will post later.

Just popping in to say good morning - was at uni this morning and ended up standing out in the rain for 15 minutes thanks to a fire alarm. Just popped home to write part of an essay, then back for another 3 hours.

Jo - glad you're feeling more positive hun!
Denise - the book sounds realy interesting, when I get 10 minutes spare I'll have a look at the webby, thanks!
Thankyou to everyone for the hugs and kind thoughts.

While I've been writing this I checked my online banking - the direct debit for the internet for the old flat has gone out this month when it was meant to have been cancelled. Grrrrr Going to have to ring them, really don't have time or energy to cope with them.

    I'll pop in later
    Love to all

    Morning all

Reporting late for duty AGAIN! But in my defence I have done some ironing and about to do some more while watching F1.

carol if the DD has gone out today, call the bank and ask them to return it and then cancel it, they may even be able to do this even if it wen out on Friday. If that is the case it may have to be actioned before 12 noon so call them quick.

Thanks Rach, rang them (I hate putting things like that off because I'm always scared they'll shout at me for not sorting it straight away) and apparently thats the outstanding bill, and its finished now :) Wrote down exactly what the woman told me and her name so shouldn't have any more problems.

On a flying note that means that all of my bills etc for that can now be filed away properly :) Which reminds me, how long should I keep bills from the old flat for now that we've moved? Its only phone/broadband and electricity...

Right must get the intro to this essay written before next lecture. And maybe give the kitchen surfaces a wipe before I go.

Thanks AnW's - don't need to this time but useful to know for the future! xxx
