Its pathetic that they dont all offer this service.

I left Orange due to their inaction when I was bombarded with 30 odd text messages at £1.50 a go.

They really dont care cos they get paid regardless.

The Sony Ericsson T610 has an interesting feature that blocks spam texts - not seen it anywhere else and it does seem to work!

don't know if it is the same for t610i but on my sonyericsson k500i go into menu, select messages, scroll down to settings and select it, scroll down to push and select it. you will see in the list 'accept msg from'. select this and it asks if you want to accept msg from 'all senders' or 'only from'. when u select 'only from' u can add to the list ur mates no's etc.

by the way does PAYG phones get prenium msgs?

Cant see that this will work as I would guess that the charge is incurred when the message is recieved by the network - or am I wrong ?

    yep u r wrong...

however, blocking all SMS & then just ading mates is only ok if u know all yr mates' fone numbers ...

bit of a pain - huh!
    something missing
  • I know that T-mobile can tell you the source of the incoming junk texts and advise you how to cancel them. I started getting junk texts from Jamster at 3x£1.50 a go even though i ahve never used their services. I firstly followed the instructions to cancel and sent an email to Jamster to confirm this. I recieved an email back saying they had cancelled it. Lo and behold a few days later I recieve another three texts so i ring them up get abit annoyed and they send me a refund and assure me the services is now cancelled. What happens? I get another three texts!!??? I ring them up again very not happy now and they send me another refund. I'm just waiting for the next three texts ::)
    Nice to save.
