Can I have a Visa Debit with NatWest??

I ordered my card on Tuesday morning so judging by the time of delivery of other posters here I should be expecting my card first thing in the morning.
The funny thing is I already know at least 8 digits of my new card before its arrived - I just checked my NatWest Secure log-in and my Visa Debit Card is showing and displays the last four digits of my card, so it must automatically get registered for NatWest Secure - my old Solo card is still showing as well though.0 -
Well i`m still waiting on mine, ordered last monday...........0

I did a transaction last night that went over to natwest secure on my new visa debit card. My old details worked fine so yes it all transfers over fine and dandy0 -

Does it have a contactless facility? They are replacing these cards with Maestro until they introduce contactless Visa which is sometime next year.0

By the end of 2010 to be precise. I'm guessing between the months of October to Decmeber next year.
I think the contactless technology will be on normal VISA debit cards, and not on VISA debit 'Electronic'. This has happend to Barclays, so I assume it will be the same for Natwest. It's a shame though that 'Electronic' version of VISA debit aren't allowed contactless technology. I wonder why...Remember there is a postal strike going on at the moment, probably the cause of the delay.
I don't think the postal strike is nationwide though. I applied for a savings account online a few days ago, and today, I got some information about my savings account.0 -
I dont think the issue with Barlcays and contacless technology on the electronic card is to do with the the issue of it might get people into debt as it does not always authorise, which would be the most obvious explanation as they are going to be introducing it on pre-paid cards here soon. I think it is an exercise in saving money on the accounts they see as sub-prime.
I think in the end Barclays and the RBS Group (and most other banks) will have it on all card types, when it takes off nationally.0 -
Some news to report to other users of the 'Blue' Natwest Visa Debit card, which might be of interest.........
Tesco, Asda and Morrisons - In store works just fine as 'VisaDebit'
Tesco Pay@Pump - Refer to issuer
Asda Pay@Pump - Not accepted
Morrisons Pay@Pump - Transaction Cancelled
Ebay/Paypal - Works fine
Tesco Online Shopping - Card not accepted.
Just read in the T&Cs for the card 'If you have a card that displays the Visa Debit logo and the card does not display a cheque guarantee hologram you will only be able to use your card at a retailer or supplier of services where they can authorise the transaction with us at the time of the transaction being made. If this is not possible the transaction will be declined.'
Yet my LTSB Visa Debit card works in all the places that my Natwest one does not, such as Pay@Pump, but my LTSB card DOES have a cheque Guarantee Hologram.
But in any event I am still happy, it is better than Solo (Looks Better), and I can always use my Credit Card for places that don't accept it.0
