Im so scared! It takes a lot to worry me more than my debts do, but the realisation that I'll be a Dad is just mind blowing!

I am looking forward to it though - will be quite an experience!

but just think of the wedding day - the cake!!! Calories galore! You can do it though. Not fun at the time, but visualising the cream cakes at the other end always helps :D

I'm 30, unfortunately :o. OH is same age. we've both been in debt progressively from age 24 onward. LBM was last year when I got hit for the repayment. Hoping to be debt free in 6/7 years, depending if we have more kids.

congratulations on the promotion. Have you ever done a SOA for people to have a look through, i know you say you are at zero pence and zero pounds but sometimes fresh eyes see new things. I joined here 3 years ago with £48k worth of debt on a single income and i've been lucky that i have always managed to pay minimums and have never been in arrears or hit my credit rating in any way, but one of the biggest things i did was decide that i set my monthly income for budgetting purposes as it was the day i joined here and on the few occasions when i've received a pay rise i've hived that money off towards debts and finally it's paying off. It's a long hard road but we can all do it.
good luck with the baby, that my be my next challenge as i got married (on cash) last year, but as we're making the decisions we're starting to save for the loss i'll suffer from the maternity pay. 3 years ago i would never have thought i'd be in this position making these decisions or even so far down the debt free route.

Just checked my online account.

HSBC have agreed to reduce my credit card APR from 22% to 19.9%. Not exactly brilliant, but I shouldn't be ungrateful I suppose!! A little less money into their pockets....

No word from Tesco yet. Still waiting..... Have to pester barclaycard again for a balance transfer.... so much to do so little time! Got the midwife today at 10:45 - twelve days til due date. Can't believe how fast the past few months have gone.

Hope everyone is having a good day! :D

Hope you slept well! I hate watching the letter box, waiting for the letter to drop, knowing it will only be bad news i'm sure. Well, its wroth a try and I have nothing to lose by asking. If they say no I'm still on track to pay the loan in seven years so I can't complain really....well I can, but I won't. I'll try not to anyway. Gibbering now - got to finish work and go home!!

Oh, by the way, I got my leaving present today - a large brown ceramic Easter bunny. Don't ask......

Thank you Penguin,

My last day is officially Friday 12th June, but it is flexible depending on when baby decides to ACTUALLY make an appearance. My present workplace and my new workplace have been brilliant and have basically said whenever I'm ready to come in they'll have me. My plan is to take two weeks paternity leave then two weeks annual leave (not like we'll be going on holiday this year anyway!!) then if baby arrives on time, start at my new job on July 13th.

Re: 'the bunny' - I actually thought it was chocolate when I took it out so i was initially really pleased. Then i gave my speech and told them they shouldn't have. No really, they SHOULDN'T have! :D
