Its amazing how you do adapt. I was worried I wouldn't be able to cope without sleep (I do like my sleep!!) but a few afternoon naps later and suddenly the night shift isn't all that bad.

I always thought it was strange when people would say all they do all day is sit and look at their newborn babies. I thought 'whay would they do that?'. Well, I've officially joined the club - i can spend hours now just looking at her.

And also, this week I took her out in the pram. I kept looking at everyone and thinking 'why are you not looking at my child, she is beautiful, everyone should be adoring her, why are you not??!!' - oh dear, i've turned into one of those parents!

Confuzzled - i have a feeling that your OH is in for a surprise when he gets home tonight! Be careful with him!

Pay day today - it'll all be gone by the 5th! At least I can get my debts under £50,000 (just) for the first time, which is a lovely thought.

Well back to it - another nappy to change!

Yee-ha - we got four hours unbroken sleep last ngiht (11pm til 3am). Thats the first time! I never thought I'd be so grateful for four hours sleep!

To be fair she isn't too bad. She doesn't cry a lot - only when she is hungry. It could be much worse. Had a nice moment last ngiht when I was dancing round the room with her (Take That were on 4Music - forgive my taste in music!) and she was almost smiling at me, before she was sick all over me. Nice. Should have waited a little while after feeding. Oh well.

Thats two weeks already. Can't believe it. I'm so pleased I took a month off work - I'm nowhere near ready to go back. We have a nother week at home, then we are going on a grand tour - first to Glasgow to visit OH parents, then to Aberdeen to visit mine and our friends. Its a ten hour journey from Cambridge to Aberdeen by car - but it will be even longer with the breaks we have to make. That will be fun!

Can't beleive petrol is going up again. :mad: I usualy pay upwards of £200 a month on petrol for work, so its been nice not to be boosting the profits of the oil companies this month. Back at it next month. I start work again on Tuesday 21st.

Anyway, back to my other work just now.

I've forgotten what a good nights sleep feels like. Also, why is there nothing decent on TV at 3.30am?

3 weeks in already. How time flies! Going up to Aberdeen tomorrow. Going to be a long drive. Better than flying though, I couldn't handle that just now with Abi being so unsettled. Then we can get the grandparents help - yay!!

Wow, cant believe it has been 3 weeks already. Have a nice time in Aberdeen and hope Abi sleeps on the journey for you! x x

hi talisker super dad seems like you are cooking on gas ive been in hiberantion for 2 weeks so will catch up soon so much to read lol no juicy goiss from me apart from i havent killed the mother in law to be yet hahahahah x

I never thought it would be so hard to find time to sit down for just five minutes and update my diary. With Abi around though nothing is the same! So, apologies for not having written in a while.

Back at work now and loving my new job. Ten minutes from home and so much more interesting and busy than my previous job.I haven't had my latest pay slip yet so I will reserve comment until I see my pay - it will be an increase, hopefully as much as I need, but we will see. This will be a tougher month as I've obviously done no overtime, which usually accounts for as much as an extra £300 a month. Will be a struggle but we'll see how we go. Next month should be better after I've done some weekends.

Trying not to worry too much about money just now. I'm more worried for the future - how things will be in a years time when OH is getting no maternity pay (she may or may not go back to work, we haven't decided yet). I know a year is a long time, but I can't help but worry how we will get by if I can't make a proper dent in the credit cards. Trying not to worry about it. Thats just me I suppose!

Anyway, I hope everyone is ok out there in diary land. Abi seems to be having a better night tonight (she's sleeping next to me).Had an AWFUL night last night - up til 2am. Slept for 3 hours, back up at 5..... not fun. Amazing how quickly you adapt though. Everyone keeps saying it will get better - well roll on!!!

Hi love hope you are well glad to see yoiu have posted im sure in the next 12 months you will make some huge huge dents in the credit cards and if not im sure a silver lining will come i have faith.. its 3 weeks to my wedding omg... keep me posted hope things are good with wifey xxx toodles x
