    UPDATE!!

OH is 41 weeks and 1 day (8 days overdue). She went into hospital today to get induced. We weren't sure if they were going to be able to accomodate us so I didn't say anything - didn't want to tempt fate!

They've started the process - can take up to 24 hours for the first stage. If that doesn't work they move to the second stage etc. etc. Im just back from the hospital - its unlikely baby will make an appearance tonight so going to try and get some sleep! We're hoping it'll be either tomorrow or tuesday.

Just can't wait anymore!!! Can't wait to meet the baby!!!!

Thanks everyone for checking in - hopefully my next post will be the good news!

Sorry its taken so long guys - what a week!

We had Baby Abigail on Monday 22nd at 11:30pm. 8 pounds 2 ounces. OH was brilliant during the birth, she managed so well. The intial induction stage was very painful for her. Her waters broke at 7.30pm on Monday and she gave birth four hours later. She was so determined she was going to have an epidural cause we could hear a woman in the delivery unit next to us screaming "OOOOWWWWWW, I CAN'T DO THIS..." That wasn't very reassuring for her. So once she got past 5 cm she kept asking everyone for an epidural. The orderly came in to change the sheets - "can I have an epidural?" Bless her. In the end, it all happened so fast she didn't get one! But she was briallint during the birth and I didn't get anything thrown at me, whcih was nice.

We got home on Tuesday evening and its been a rollercoaster since. OH has been very sore after the birth so I've have taken on all duties (except breatfeeding of course!). Was up all night last night with her, so feeling a bit out of it just now. She will settle soon I'm sure, its still early days.

She is so gorgeous though, and I couldn't be happier. I can tell I'm going to love being a Dad. Its been so hard to find the time to sit down and give everyone the good news. I've still got a bunch of text messages to get through. She is settled just now so I thought I should make a start.

Well thats it for the next 18 years. Will have to get back to the debtbusting now - another month of arguing with the credit card companies - oh joy! I was quite enjoying my 'time off' as well!
