Spud why don't you try doing intervals on the tready....run for 30 seconds out of your comfort zone and then do a walk for maybe 3 mins.....do you want me to come and do a jillian on you :rotfl:
I'd LOVE you to hun
I ran a minute, walked for 2 a few times, then brisk walked the rest. Made it to 40 minutes, but could barely get back to my chair afterwardsIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

snags - someone was handing out jaffa cakes on the course - I silently thanked you for telepathically telling said chap that they were a necessary accessory......:D
*runs off immediately to sign up for next years marathon*
Free Jaffa Cakes - whoop whoop!!
Actually, I'm not doing very well with the running - my ankle now hurts like hell.
I have trainers that fit, sorbothanes, I've tried resting it, I've got a support bandage - nothing is really working.
I'm still fairly confident of managing the 5k at the end of May, but the 10k I'm really not confident about. :undecided"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

For all you who are thinking you are crap at running, and will never get anywhere - you WILL get there, if you want to, and you work at it.
Last October, when I got my marathon place, Pania and I struggled to get to the end of my road without stopping. When we got to the end of the road we had to walk.......that meant we had managed a whole quarter of a mile running..........
There is a lot of difference between quarter of a mile and a marathon, but in 6/7 months, I did it.
So you can do your 10k - it doesn't need to be fast, or pretty, as long as you get round. Remind yourself of how much you have improved over the last few days/weeks and give yourself a pat on the back! And remember that these races are DESIGNED for all types of runners - those who have been running for years, and those that have been running for weeks.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
