Orange Contract. Help pls!

I took out an orange contract phone last month and when i received my bill on the 15th April it said they were going to take the Direct Debit on 24th April. I don't get paid until the 28th so i rang them and asked if it could be changed. The man i spoke to said it was no problem and i'd phoned in time for them to change it, and i also received a letter telling me the date had been changed to the 28th.
So I just logged on my bank account and saw i was in the minus! when i've checked my statement guess what they've taken the payment today!
I just phoned them and the man i spoke to was so rude and didn't even apologise once! he was obviously trying to say it was MY fault for trying to change the date of the direct debit and that it had been set up to be taken on the 28th of NEXT month! and asked me several times if the guy i spoke to said it would be changed this month! and that i need to fax him the letter which states it would be taken on the 28th and it will be "looked into". Nothing about my account going into overdraft because of them, not even an apology!! I am absolutely furious! Is there nothing else i can do?!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

  • I'm afraid probably not as it does take time for a DD to be changed. However, it all depends when you asked. You haven't made clear if you asked on the 15th or if it was some days later so perhaps you could clarify that?

yes i called them on the 15th!
  • Well, in that case, you may have a chance with them. But the only thing I can advise is to hassle them about it and get them to listen to the recording of the call. (That's if they told you it would be fixed from this month)
