Any machine that doesn't achieve a certain speed is more than likely running something in the back ground that it shouldn't.

    Indeed. Most likely Norton :)

    19.344 secs

    Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 2.66GHz (stock)
    4 GB DDR3 @ CL9
Asus P5E64 WS Evolution (Intel X48 chipset)
    Running Vista x64 SP1

My CPU is the weak point in my system, but I haven't yet found a game that causes it to struggle so I don't care. I can probably overclock it a bit anyway, if I could be bothered.

    2m 09.594s ..... :eek::eek:
I know my computer is getting slower by the day but compared to the rest of the results I think I should go shopping for a new one.

ETA - top of hard drive tells me...
    Intel Celeron D 356 (33.33GHz)
    512MB DDR2 memory
    80GB Hard disk drive storage
    DVD RW Dual format
Unicrome Pro 3d/2d graphics & video intergrated
    Fast ethernet 10/100 LAN
Microsoft windows XP home edition SP2
    and yes I have Norton!

    XP
    1.85 gigahertz AMD Sempron
    2 gig RAM

    Run #1 1m 6.765s
    Run #2 1m 3.156s

EDIT: Loving the disclaimer on their helpscreen:

"We don't care the problems which may be caused by using or running Super PI program on your machine!"

Unequivocal and to the point! (Translation thing maybe?)

    EDIT:

59.484s with no regular applications running (Firefox and Thunderbird open before) and Prime95 (which I run as a service) stopped.

A tad slow perhaps? (Looking at other people's times with similar specs.) AVG Free running in background. Is there a rule of thumb for expected completion times based on speed and type of processor and RAM? Or is it more complicated than that?
