    4m 08.1s

    P4 2.4GHz & 1Gb RAM.

I think I've got the slowest machine for FPU calcs then?

With a 2.4 Ghz it should be WAY faster than that. Sounds to me like your either infected or you have a serious hardware issue or something running in the background

    Vista 64bit
    Intel Q6600 Quad Core (overclocked)
    4GB Ram

Interestingly this only uses a small amount of my processors available power. I was expecting it to consume all available resources...

    Agreed, something not quite right.

    My Athlon XP2400 (2.0Ghz) and 736mb of SDRAM took about 1min 21secs.

    The above was using XPHome.

Just tried the Linux version, using Mint, same machine, dual booting and result was 85secs.
    Move along, nothing to see.

maybe time this thread was re-titled " The virus catcher "

Any machine that doesn't achieve a certain speed is more than likely running something in the back ground that it shouldn't.

    15 - 16 seconds - 2.13 GHz Intel Xeon X3210 Quad Core.

WR is something like 9 seconds...

    Q6600 with 4GB RAM (3 useable).
    SuperPi - 23.365 s
    PiFast - 1.91 s

Bit of a difference there. Is PiFast optimised for multicore or is it just down to the method used?
