Seven would be a bit of an overkill though.
Last year when I opened a £50K bond with CloseBrothers, I would have fancied drawing the cheques on interest bearing accounts.

That's if you don't want either.

For anyone who wants to use these as instant access accounts (without dropping below £5K!) cheques and card would be very handy, particularly seeing as Faster Payments are not working, not reliably anyway.

I now have 5 without cheque book etc and 1 with - am happy to move money on-line into the "with" account if I need to write a cheque & between debit cards, credit cards & loyalty cards -just can't cope with any more....

Hmm - bit cumbersome to lug around the shops...
....So make decision before going out, which cards you need....
That would involve a plan -also beyond me.;)

Well I've just opened a second current account on line (classic), but had to ring up to add Vantage to it.

Could you open it online without the extra cheque book and debit card?

How come you couldn't upgrade to Vantage online?

Because I couldn't - I could only upgrade to the fee paying version on-line.

I had to click past all the fee paying accounts but I did get to the Vantage option eventually.

Perhaps different people get different upgrade options.
