P.s a day vegging out in front of the telly is bliss, even better if you get some kiddies dvd's get yourself some mags or a good book and you can both have a duvet day and if you have got the house tidy in the morn you can do it guilt free!!!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0

When I have my grandchild over, I will admit to putting on In the Night Garden while I quickly do a tidy up!
He is 20 months.
Where were these programmes when my children were growing up?!?!?
I put it on and he stops whatever he is doing, makes his way to a sofa, plonks himself down and I don't hear a peep from him!!!
Marvelous programme!0 -
We love night garden in our house as soon as the music starts my one year old lets out an excited shriek and its a cue that we all have to be quiet,0

It's always hard but planning helps. Plan the weeks meals in advance so you don't have to ask yourself each day what your going to make.
When its just you and a little one they have to get use to entertaining themselves, whilst you do some things but you don't have to have the how cleaned top to bottom daily, find the right balance.
It sounds like your hubby needs reminding a marrage is a partnership, which means he has to do his share.
I work but don't have the hubby but I still have to have a clean house and spend quailty time with my son. I like one of the other posters try to do a little each night after DS is in bed each night I do an hour cleaning before having a little me time and at the weekends it's washing, hoovering (with help from DS) and cooking but the rest of my time is all his.
As for getting a lay in, he has toys and books in his room, which he knows he can play with until I get up.0 -
you know, I'm dreading this...if all goes well, we'll have a sprog soon (12 weeks next week). Before anyone says it, yes, I have it easy. I'm a bloke. However, I have OH who's energyless, craving, alternately depressed/wound up/sore/etc, who's unable to do much as most things bring on the pukey reflex and so on.
So far. the day is:
Up at 7, feed 2 cats. Put kettle on, check bathroom for cat accidents, go back to bed for 10 minutes.
OH gets up, goes to loo. Hear the chunder for several minutes, then shower.
Make 2 cuppas.
Drink them
Warm the car up as she brings hers back up.
Go to work, very slowly lest I bring on a "car chunder".
Come home, again slowly.
Feed cats and vent kitchen to try and mitigate puke-reflex smells (if I have time)
Make 2 cuppas, take in, sit for 10 minutes and drink/chat.
Start pondering tea.
OH decides that she wants something ungodly, so off to the shop, get it, come back
Start cooking. Feed guinea pigs whlie doing this.
Tidy kitchen, do washing up and drying, put stuff away.
Finish cooking, run out of kitchen avoiding smoke alarm.
Eat (at least half of what I cook in OHs case :rotfl:)
Be on bowl patrol for puke.
Wait for OH to go to bed, do more tidying, feed cats if I couldn't earlier.
Make lunch for work, sort work stuff out, use PC to do that while fielding 2 cats.
Have shower
Lock up, sort cats and pigs for night-time, go to bed.
Get up repeatedly to curse the cats noise.
repeat daily. Add occasional mopping of bathroom/kitchen and dysoning of flat as needs arise. Oh, plus the washing..
I'm already ruddy shattered..heh. Add a sprog, and...eek..
On the upside, I work in a school that will have discounted "on site" creche facilities for staff, so I could bring sprog with me when the time was right..which would be fun.0 -

This is only the beginning....wait until she is on her last....feels the size of a house.....feels as if everything is about to drop out... continously walks with her legs open simply because she can't close them, is dropping little winds uncontrollably and it is all your fault!Enjoy!

argh.
Ah well..it'll be worth it with luck. I'm looking forward to not having to keep a bowl in the car at all times - it's even worse right now as I had my car written off a few days back, so I've got a 14k Golf as a rental..no spewing in THAT.
At least with the Astra, it was "open door, spew, close door, don't worry".0 -
You could start doing Avon, or mystery shops, something to give you the feeling that you've achieved something other than cleaning something that will get mucked up in five minutes anyway... Or if you don't fancy that, you could do a craft, or some writing (have a look on !!!!!!!!!!!, they pay you as well!) or take a class in the evening, and tell OH it's only one night for crying out loud : )
I also put the TV on when the kids start coming in the kitchen when I'm trying to clean it! It's not a crime : ) and if you really don't want to do that there's always CBeebies Radio on BBC 7 which my kids love as it has nursery rhymes, etc, as well as the regular characters from the shows. We tape it on the BT vision box so we can play it whenever.I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.0 -

Sorry to tell you but the sickness could go on all through the pregnancy, my sister was sick throughout & I was sick on the way to the hospital & through my first labour!
Then when the baby arrives it is simply a different person being sick!!!0 -
I'm now on my 3rd baby and have only just started to 'prioritise myself'. Yes the ironing needs doing but i'm exhausted so which comes higher? `A few clothes or me? So today i took a nap while my baby slept and now i'm having some computer time. Is an hour a day really too much to allow ourselves? This evening i'm going out with a friend for dinner. It'll b a nightmare trying to get my 3 to bed while i get myself ready but hey - its friday - they can watch a dvd instead of having stories read. It's really not goin to stunt their development!
I leave all the 'big' vleaning jobs - bathroom, kitchen etc till the weekend when OH can take over with the kids. i get it done quicker n without the guilt that i'm leaving kids to entertain themselves.
Put yourself top of the list occassionally - afterall, your no good to anyone burnt ut n resentfulMANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j
