But if he's causing stress then I'd just leave it - dont talk to him and see if he comes chasing back (bet he does they usually do ), its hard when you like someone but sometimes its for the best to be as cool as possible...

He could be, although we have been chatting online for about 3 months as friends (it only became 'potential date' a couple of weeks ago), and have talked about dating and who we are seeing etc. He was seeing someone in February but they split up and since then he's been single (he says).

He IS really busy, he works some horrendous hours and he has twin girls who he sees a lot of when he's not at work, so it's possible it was just that. But it still came across as distant and a bit rude.

He's also shy, so I think if I back right off, he will too - so I think I'll go for the 'just ask him' option and see what happens.

But you're right about playing it cool - the more I back away from the 'other man in my life', the more interested he is.....but as soon as we get close, he backs off again. :mad: His loss! :rotfl:

I actually don't mind doing the non-exclusive dating thing - it would suit me too and I'm not in any rush to leap into a relationship.
