I think this just goes to show the utter bilge that can be spread around the web.
In the wild west there were the 'snake oil' salesmen travelling round with their wagon. Today you don't need the expense of the wagon, or the time to travel!
Set up a web site and sure enough the gullible will herd around in droves and send you cash.
I will assume Kaya, that you meant to put this on the 'Ulcers' thread, because it sure won't whiten teeth.
Trouble is swishing vegetable oil through your teeth will do bu**er all else either, apart from maybe make your breath smell like a chip shopHow to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

No point in doing anything yet, you need to actually stop smoking first and you would probably need a good scale and polish before as well.0

I can vouch for the Cresit Strips that you can buy off eBay. Made a huge difference to the colour of my teeth, but agree, that you should really give up smoking, otherwise any results you receive from the bleaching will be very shortlived.Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

Are your teeth suitable for whitening?
With the money you save from giving up the fags, you would soon have enough money to have it done properly and safely by a dentist. How to find a dentist.

How many different whitening procedures are there and which is best and safest and why?
Just looking at this Zoom2 thing.. Havent ever seen any other company advertise another brand for tooth whitening.. Is this just a marketing thing?
Anyone used this before?
Thanksx

There are loads of different 'brands' out there, but the chemicals involved fall into just a couple of categories. there are just different strengths and application proceedures.
There is no one method that is most suitable and safest for everyone.
Get properly assessed and discuss it with a dentist.
Zoom is very good if you need an instant 'Wow'. eg a wedding, movie premier or photoshoot. It does tend to fade quite quickly though and is often backed up by a tray & gel method worn at night over a few weeks.
The other way is just to go with the tray & gel methods. This takes longer, but results can be more stable. How to find a dentist.

Daughter has an appointment to have bleaching trays made for home bleaching.
Her friend is a dental assistant at a different dentist and says she can get her the bleach cheaper but which one should she ask her to get? We need to know the type and percentage to tell her friend so she knows what shes getting and be sure its ok for her. I know she could get some via online websites although I don't have a clue which are ok but we thought it safer to get it through her friend.
She has been was on minocin for about 18 months a couple of years ago. I think that has had some affect on her teeth and she loves very strong currys and red wine which has added to it so they are darker at the sides than frontThanx
