Oh and buy some sensodyne or equivalent and brush with that if you are getting it done as it has a tendency to increase sensitivity while you are getting it done.

My daughter had it done last week at our dentist. It cost £580 including a half-hour session with hygenist, in-chair whitening plus trays & 8 syringes of the gel for at-home use. She'll have had 4 appointments with the dentist by the time its completed.
Yes its expensive, but I trust our dentist and she's only 18 so it was important to us that everything was monitored properly and carried out by a highly experienced professional. She spent 2 years with braces on and the whitening was the final stage in giving her a beautiful smile.

Does anyone know of a reliable and safe way of whitening teeth , have just returned from dentists appointment, where he has told me it would cost £195 to have them whitened. using a moulded plate gumshield and bleach !
Does anyone have any experience of these systems ? are there any better ones that you know of ?
and lastly does this price seem about right ?

A friend of mine brought me back some Crest Strips from the US, and after using for 30 mins morning and night for 7 days my teeth are noticeably whiter. :D You can get them on eBay for about £30.

Yeah a friend of mine has superbly white teeth. So bright you need  I had to ask her in the end how she kept them so white. She said she uses these strips, first started in the US when she lived there for a bit. They must work!

I was told about a product called Party Sparkle, made by Pearl Drops, I think. You might have to use it for a while to notice any difference though. It cost £2.99 in Boots.

My sons dentist charged him £350. I paid £90 for the same kit off Ebay. You sent for the kit which includes a moulding paste, you make a mould of your teeth, send it off to the lab and they make a plastic sheild, just like the dentist. Its very thin plastic and is easy to use. Yoa apply the bleaching gel and it does work. However, it does cause some sensitivity, just like your dentist may have warned you about. Still , I got the same result as my son. However, I am interested in these strips, might give it a go.
