They are on Groupon in my area today, never heard of them before now, appreciate reports if anyone has used them?
Many thanks0 -
Is it a 'Clinic' or a product.
Could only find a 'product by googling, and that looked pretty rubbish to me.How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Starsmile is the clinic name, their website shows the procedure, amongst other things, but it says they are NOT trained in dentistry, purely cosmetic procudures. £300 is usual cost for a treatment, with £50 follow-ups if required.0

If you are happy to let an unqualified person with a couple of hours "training" put unknown chemicals on one of the most sensitive parts of your body in what is the illegal practice of dentistry then go ahead.
If you value your oral health have a proper consultation with a dentist, see if it is safe , effective for you (whitening doesn't work on fillings or crowns and shouldn't be done on someone with active gum disease.)0 -
Especially when they seem to be charging as much as some dental practices, and more than several I know of!How to find a dentist.

I looked at this Groupon offer and thought no - I would not use these 'cosmetic' offers. Groupon has had Zoom at least once recently from reputable dentists so perhaps wait for that to come up again.
I have considered several of the professional (dentist) whitening procedures and the one I fancy is Enlighten as it seems to do quite a lot in a short visit - 30 mins plus 2 weeks of trays. I like the fact that they emphasize very little discomfort - I hate the idea of zinging pains!
Needless to say, this doesnt come up on Groupon!0 -
oh my goodness , more than likely be using chlorine dioxide
give a very wide berth0 -
I'm currently using Enlighten's home teeth whitening system and am happy with the results so far. I'd like to buy a couple of top up syringes for future maintenance, but my dentist charges £65 for a single one. Does anyone know of any online stores that stock them for less? I haven't been able to find anything. Thanks for any help! :T0

hi
im afraid there isnt anywhere where you can buy enlighten top-up tubes online (as far as i know, and im a dentist).
If you dont want to pay the £65 at your practice, the best bet is to ring around other practices that offer enlighten, and see how much they chrage. usuall price is between £55-65
However most practices will not sell you whitening gels unless youve had the whitening done there - its more of a safety thing more than anything else.0
