Done all that. My network has a tick next to it. When I click on it nothing happens. Have also just tried clicking safari and it says that I am not connected to the internet.

The bars on the airpot icon are full also

OK, connect it with an ethernet cable, and run Software Update (click the Apple in the top left corner). Keep running it until it tells you there aren't any more updates available.

The only other thing I can think of is making sure your Mac is set to the correct time and date. If it's not, fix it, and then restart and see if that helps.

Otherwise, it sounds like it could be a hardware issue. It's very simple to connect to a wireless network on a Mac, and it has never taken me more than 10 seconds to do so.

Do you live near an Apple Store?

One other alternative, check you are connecting to the right network. Could be that you have a nieghbour with the same type of router who's network name is something like 3-com but the password should be different.

Just check you're on the right network and see if there's anything you need to do on the router to enable pairing (such as pressing a wireless association button)
Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though

The time etc is correct, things like that I have checked. Since Thursday I have scoured the net looking for help in trying to get the mac working, but everything I have tried hasnt worked. I do not live by an Apple store either.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help. It is very much appreciated.
Hopefully I will be able to contact the promoter of the competition to see what they can do to assist me.

    Thanks Again

Another thing that comes to mind: are you using any wireless security on your any of your PCs (such as Windows Live OneCare WiFi Security)?

Do you know anyone who would let you try to connect it to their wifi network?

Lots of businesses (such as McDonald's) have free wifi where you could try it out too.

That would give a pretty good indication as to where the problem lies.
