I had a card between 2002 - 2005 and never had any problems then closed it in late 2005. One guy said that may go against you....hmmm...a fully repaid credit card account what had on time payments for 3 years may go against me?!

Well i called them this morning, and all they wanted to know was the error code on the screen from my application.

They said that i would be informed of the decision within two working days.

I wont be holding my breath.

    Evening all,

I've just called HSBC to find out the status of my application and was firstly told "yes, it does look like a decision has been made - can you hold the line" then she came back and said that because i had applied on-line then they couldnt tell if my application was successful of not at the moment, and that i would be notified on Monday or Tuesday either by post, phone or on-line banking.

What do we think? Sounds like a decline to me!

One of the criteria for a hsbc cc is that there is a min of £500 mandated into the current account on a monthly basis.

Also dependant on current borrowing levels inc od, pl, old cc that havent been closed and flexiloans and current account conduct

    hope this helps

    PLAIN ENGLISH! LOL

for anyone new od = overdraft / pl = personal loans / old cc = previous credit cards

    LOL

I also got told about the £500 min mandate. cheers for confirming it..
