Two teenagers circling like a pack of hungry hyenas are driving me to distraction, of course all their mates are on the pc on-line games at weekends and there is no way I'm letting them near the laptop!
Thanks for all your patience and advice with this one.sassybird0 -
We're looking at about the £60.00 mark. Also, if we do upgrade eventually to a tft does the graphics card need a special output?

Thanks.
Dabs
is a very decent performing card from a reliable manufacturer.
You'll need DVI/O capability (which this card has) if your TFT monitor is digital, otherwise the standard d-sub connector will work fine. You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
As you have now removed the graphics card, why not simply try reinstalling it. Sometimes re-seating cards can cure problems like this and it may be worth a try before buying a new one. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Hubby has already tried that one and the fan on the graphics card is not working at all when the pc is switched on, so the graphics card will be overheating and breaking down. At least it does all point to the graphics card being the culprit - not a virus as I originally thought last night!!
Good idea though.

Try cleaning and oiling the fan. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
