  • When I upgraded my phone 6 months ago they wanted £250 for a Nokia N78. There was no way I was paying that. They came down to £150 but I still wasn't paying that. A few weeks later someone from the company phoned me and said they could give me the phone for £20. I said could they not do it for free and eventually that did. So hold out for the phone you want and if you threaten to leave them you will usually get a big discount.

Good for you for holding out on the new phone, they do drop in price fast! I really like the look of the new N97! :) But will deffo resist buying it at the price they want for it!

I would agree on the phone front. they will come down so don't accept less than you want.

Well done on the vouchers, I know what you mean about wishing it was cash though!

Lol Maria I hate queuing at the PO too and will send OH at any opportunity I get.

Thanks wendz, the only consolation is that I will get pressies etc with them.

    Well work today.

I have pizza dough rising in the kitchen so I can make dd pizza for lunch and I can take some to work and leave some for the others to cook when they get in tonight.
I so nearly didn't prepare anything today and it would have been so easy to go to the shop and buy something but thankfully I have saved myself. I would have been so cross later if I had bought something.

Need to go buy milk later and have a voucher for nappies if they have any in which they didn;t the other day. Morrisons have some pampers on offer for £2.50 and I have a £2.50 off voucher for pampers so that equates to free nappies for me!! yay but they never have dd's size in funnily enough.

My dooyoo challenge is on track but I realise it's going to be hard work.

Well done on resisting the lure of the shiny new mobile phone :T Thanks for popping into my diary too now I have decided to take the plunge, it's quite exciting really and I hope I can do as well as you have done, you are one of my motivators you know! I see you have signed up to the Chrimbo challenge, good luck with doing that, I had a wee look but there is no way I could manage it I don't think. Are you always organised with your meals etc? I fall down there, and have nothing organised for tonight and it needs to be a quick easy one today so think it will be baked potatoes and beans or tuna - quick and cheap too!

    Aww thanks Primula.
No not always organised with meals but this month it is a case of having to as have no spare cash. I do find we eat the same things every week which does get very boring, but yesterday I made a beef casserole in the slow cooker and I just bunged in things we had in the cupboard and everyone loved it I was so pleased lol.
I had nothing organised today which is why I went for pizza, everything i the freezer is too frozen to be spontaneous with and that is where I fall down, thinking the night before.

I think you could do the crimbo challenge, as they said it's £7 ish per day to achieve bronze. It's a good motivational tactic when you can see how much you gain through other means.

Was just having a think about my loan figure. We have the overdraft and a comet loan which I'm not worried about at the mo.
OH is going to hopefully give me some money to pay off the loan (or one of the other debts) when he gets paid and I think it'll be approx £100.

If I pay the loan and he does this for July, aug and sept, then that will be £300

    £1904
    - 300 (poss from OH)
    - £240 ( my regular payments for aug and sept)

    = 1364
    +£40 (interest) ish

I only have to find £400 to get the loan down to 1K by end sept. That would be amazing. Hmmm how to do it.....

Not feeling very motivated this morning. Went to bed last night with a sore throat and it's still there this morning, don't want it to turn into anything else.

Have been through some motions and done scratchies and read some reviews this morning, but haven't written anything for dooyoo, but I may do that later.

Have work today and have to go in early for a meeting as well which isn't fun. On a brighter note though I am posting three parcels today from ebay sales and my bank account is looking ok. If I don't spend anything until payday (yeah right) then I'll be in a better position next month.
  • Hope you are feeling better.
