Hi YB - I've been missing in action lately but was delighted on coming back to see the fantastic figures on your loan - just look how well you're doing! :j Seriously - well done to you, it's such a strange thing to have as a target - I sometimes think in a way that it's actually easier when it's a "real" debt you're targetting, as the loan is something that people don't understand why you're paying off sooner......one of the reasons why I feel more at home on this board than on the MFW one I think, for us overpaying the mortgage is just part of the thing.....

Keep at it - get your finances back on an even keel before worrying about putting any more to the loan. I know it's frustrating though cos you just want to chip, chip and chip away at the little blighter, don't you!

Thanks EH yes you have it down to a tee. I wanted to put the money I have had to use in my account onto the loan but I know it's daft when we need money for other bits.

Without the loan and OH being a **** about money we will be fine every month with my new budgeting and I will be able to start on the mortgage and bits we need for the home, but with them all it's horrid and I want them all gone.

Maria - Hi, I thought you knew about my little corner of MSE lol, but glad you've found me.

I'm off to invetigate a quidco offer.

Hiya Yukkibear, I'm back! Had a great holiday and now it feels a bit of a downer being back and back to work tomorrow............groan! Credit card took a bit of a bashing on holiday, but not too drastic and we did have a really enjoyable time, but back to MSE daily fix now and back to budgeteering from tomorrow! Don't beat yourself up if you don't manage to pay as much off your loan this month, it's incredible that in less than 3 months you have paid off over £1,000 already. Good news you got your cot sold quickly. I sold a few things on Ebay before my hols but i find it so time consuming and then i tend to worry until I know it arrived safely at the other end so don't think Ebay is for me.

i Primula, glad you had a good time on hol. I always say that being away you shouldn't hold back as otherwise you may as well have stayed at home.

Thanks for your kind words, I know I shouldn't feel bad, I just am so impatient lol.
As for ebay, I guess I have been lucky and only a handful of people have not received or been unhappy so not too bad. I hate the idea of a carboot though even though it would be easier, so ebay it is for me at the mo.

Well I have achieved all of my list today apart from getting dressed lol. I have a few ebay bits selling tonight, not for a lot but pennies is beter than nothing.

Also managed to move our bedroom around so it's tidy now and it made OH put his clothes away lol.

So all in all a productive day but not a lot of money made, lets hope I've set up the fence for the money to come through.

    Hi Yukkibear!

I have read all of your diary with interest, and you have done soooo amazingly well!

I can't believe how quickly you've managed to pay off £1,000, it has definitely motivated me! As you know, I am also getting married next year and trying to clear my debts before then, so I will be subscribing to your thread to see how you get on! We can motivate each other!

We're both aiming for Bronze in the Chrimbo Cracker Countdown challenge as well! :D

Good luck with the rest of the loan, and keep up the good work! x

Thanks spykey, lets hope we can motivate each other. Hope you have found a couple of ideas.

I am looking at phones to upgrade, and then of course my old phone will be recycled for cash.
I would have to go onto a 18 month contract where I am on a 12 month one now, but for the same price but that's ok.
Trouble is I cant decide on what phone to get, nothing is grabbing me, but there are some good ones.

Does anyone have a samsung soul or lucido and tell me anything bad or good about them.

Well couldn't decide which phone to get so am not going to get either of them. There is a phone I want that I can't get free on the plan I want so I will wait.
We'll see how long that lasts lol.

Today I got a £10 next voucher from CP and also redeemed £5 amazon voucher frm Bport. Wish more was in cash but never mind, it'll start the clothes and xmas funds which I'll be grateful for in a couple of months.

Have sorted some of dd2's old shoes to ebay later, some of them are immaculate, one pair is scuffed but I'm going to stick them on as you never know.

I had to buy my mil something from ebay this morning and used my paypal but I can't moan as she just took me for lunch and bought me a top, so I'm in no postiion to grumble really.

My bank account is a little dire but if some money goes in that may go in this week and then I don't spend anything else this month (hmmm) then I'll be ok again next month and will be able to chuck money at the debt again.

Oh and meant to say 6 parcels were shipped off with OH this morning. REally running out of wrapping supplies now but don't want to buy any. Am recycling the oddest of bits and pieces to wrap parcels with.

Nothing sells for any great amount but something is better than nothing. I have one item selling later for the grand total of 99p lol
