    ADSL is up to 8mbps
ADSL 2 is up to 12mbps
    ADSL2+ is up to 24mbps.

My advise if it ain't broke don't fix it.

If your ISP is non LLU and I guess Virgin is the same then I doubt there will be any difference in the speed you will get.

Check on Samknows what services are available at your exchange.

Who do you have (if you have one) your mobile phone with and landline with?

Take your time deciding as you have plenty time :)

I have checked samknows and it says that adls 2 and adsl 2+ will be done in my area on 30th of september

but don't you think that it's worth going with virgin for 7days to see if they can offer the speed they are saying and if not go back to plusnet

    thanks again for your replys

What happens in the event of you cancelling if Virgin are no improvement?
The equipment you are using won't change.
Can you post your router statistics, it will give a better idea of what you may be able to get.

    (Guess the film )

I can see you Jemma, you are correct OP could probably do a good deal with O2 or the like by combining there BB and mobile.

    Router stats:
Identify your router and have a look at this link.

I wouldn't go near Plusnet (they have nothing new, cheap[er] or different to anyone else and they're just BT with different logos) and Virgin is OK if they have something you can't get elsewhere (eg free !!!!!! at the tax payers' expense).

O2 are well worth taking a look at. I get my Simply SIM off them and excellent ADSL. Very good deal indeed and when I went to cancel I got 12 months' free ADSL.

If you have a mobile it's worth shopping around a bit more than usual.
