My previous landlord was a little bit slow and I had to chase him for everything but after all wasn't bad. He visited the flat only once in 3.5 years to inspect work of builders.

My current landlord/agency is good. When heating broke they sent us their engineer the same day and diagnosed the fault. Agency brought portable heaters and offered rent discount until the problem is fixed.

When our toilet was flooded plumber came in 1 hour from my phone call. I couldn't get better service if it was my own flat and I had to arrange for everything myself. I hope I will be able to stay here for a couple of years.
wow I want your LA :p
  • Our landlord is brilliant.

He came to see us last year and said he didnt like the kitchen, so 3 weeks later we got a new kitchen, he bought us a new dishwasher and washing machine.

2 years ago he replace the carpet in the whole house.

And 2 weeks ago he painted the hallway the way I want it!!!

    We are sooooo lucky

    My previous landloard was great.

He never once visited to "check up on us" during our entire 1.5 year tenancy. We rewarded his trust with an immaculate house when we left. I like a landlord that leaves you to your "quiet enjoyment" of the property.

And he told us not pay the last months rent as re-payment of our deposit!

Ours is really good. This place was like a showhome when we first moved in - everything newly painted and sparkling. The landlord only has one rented house and really takes pride in it.

The rent is very reasonable because the landlord does not want to price local people out of the area (he's local himself and lives at the other end of town).

When we had a slight leak with the shower he came round within 15 minutes to look at it.

The only other time he's been around is when he painted the fence at the back - but he gave us 7 days' notice for that.
  • It shocks me that so many people on here are saying that they see their landlord, even if it is only once in two years.

I have never met any landlord that I have ever had!

My landlord is the best you could wish for.

Iv been in 3 of his house now over many years. Every time he buys a new one that he thinks id like more he ask if I want it before he puts adds out.

When I moved into this one I didnt like the white doors and he got them took off and nice wood/glass ones I picked put in. Also got me new wood blinds for alll over the house wood floors also alll over the house and real wood at that.

He was here one day and I said I was thinking of putting decking in the garden and ask was that ok. Next thing two weeks later two men came and put the decking in at the landlords cost. Tarmac my drive the lot. If you ring saying something needs doing he is real fast at getting it done.

So now my ex hubby and son both live in houses from the same landlord

Best move i ever mead going into one of his houses.

my current landlady is great, she has fixed any problems straight away and she brought a present for my 1 yr olds birthday, she lives across the road so i have to make sure i keep the front garden mowed lol.
my landlady before my previous one was also fantastic, it was a shared house and i didnt even meet her till i moved out as she lived in leicester, but she trusted us to keep the house for her, if anything needed replacing she'd just agree and we'd go and buy the one we wanted and she'd refund us straight away, boiler got replaced straight away even though it was still working, just a bit tempremental and she sorted all bills out for everyone so we had no stresses with splitting them. she had the british gas 5* service thingy so if anything went wrong we could just call them out ourselves and when i moved in i didnt like the colour of the walls on my room so she got them painted before i arrived and new wooden blinds.. i've been lucky...

My current Landlord is a decent guy, we've met him a couple of times and he hasn't complained about stupid things, plus did a few repairs for us when we first moved in.

The agency are another matter, they have no understanding of tenancy law (or are hoping I don't), eg every time I am 'due' for an inspection (every 3 months!) they have tried to tell me they can come round whenever they want with 24 hours notice, and I've had to keep putting them straight. They've even started threatening me with a £20 fine if I cancel less than 48 hours beforehand. Another issue is that I've not received anything relating to the TDS since i moved in 14 months ago, and when i rang to query this they seemed suprised when I said they were obliged to send me certain information relating to this.

My previous landlords have all been !!!!!!, last guy had some work on the fascias done, the workmen damaged some of the stuff outside the house and he tried to blame it on me and take my deposit for it, also his 'brand new' oven (which was made by a company that went into liquidation 5 years ago) broke down and he refused to replace it because it cost too much (£150ish, compared to the £700 a month rent I was paying). When I moved out he tried to take my deposit because his broken down oven was a bit dirty!

Anyway I could go on and on about bad landlords, but my current one is pretty good by comparison, so I'm happy.

I have had five different LL. The first one was a little strange ... i caught him letting himself in once! He said he was dropping off mail ... Another one nearly killed me ... i had a slow gas leak which built up behind the cooker. I had very bad cold and if a friend didn't stay over ... The leak was caused by the fitter using water pipe sealer instead of gas! She denied this when she popped over with two heavies. This was the same flat where someone let themselves in and rumaged in the living room while i was in bed- she wouldn't let me change the locks. Fast forward to my current property i know the name of the owner (a ltd company) but can't find it on google and it is managed by another ltd company ... never met any of them. Bit hard to get jobs done and they are lousy about collecting rubbish but i would rather that than some private landlord insisting on a weekly inspection which is what a friend has!
