New clutch

Hi

My car broke down today and there was a really bad burning smell...it appears my car needs a new clutch....any idea of a ball park figure on how much it will cost?

I have a Ford Mondeo 2.0 115 TDi LX

    ...but there isn't a Mr Clutch near me and I can't see how much it will cost on that site...or am I not looking properly?

    Starter motor cos that'll be on it's last legs £65
    Labour £165

    as above. you wont get much change £900. shop around and ask a few different garages,dont go to a dealer, they will be over a grand probably.

    harvey... I live in the south west and my car's in the garage now....it's in my village and was a convenient garage for the breakdown vehicle to put it

    ps I prefer your cost list to the others ;)

    pps..I have to hire a car for a week as well cos the garage has a full book for that time...it can only get better

    The cost I quoted above is what I paid to have one done a few weeks back.
    Tho it was my choise to throw a new clutch in while the gearbox was out.
