    I rang another garage for a price today for the work and he asked what the problem etc was and he seems to think that it is not the cam chain at all and that he is using the issue of it being a common problem on my type of car. So i'm taking it to him on Sat.

    So we'll see if it is always worth getting a second opinion or not he seems to think its probably a coil pack which is about £30 which if it is is a big difference to an £800 bill!!!!

    Before I paid 800 squid for a stealers to replace a timing chain I would shop around on the net, buy a decent quality kit from a reliable seller and get my local mechanic to fit. I will never take a car to a dealer to be worked on if I am footing the bill. Workmanship is rarely better than a good independent and costs double the price.
