    Morning :)

Not a great start to the day today, Ryan having a bit of a meltdown (okay, a lot), so he's shut himself in his room to try to calm down. He's not even ready for school yet, so I've had to ring work and say I'll be in late, if at all.

Thankfully, they know the situation with Ryan and are very supportive, and also, it's a long time now since I last had to take a day off for that reason, but I still hate letting them down.

SavingHolmes - that's excellent news about your friend's son. I've read a bit about the diet, but there didn't seem to be a great deal of evidence to say it worked - it's good to hear a real life experience of it helping.

Hypno/Bob - I started to apply for DLA about a year ago, but never actually put the application in. I was told by a few people that I was unlikely to get any help because a lot of his issues can be addressed by the right kind of care/support/medication, and to be honest, I just gave up on the idea, but perhaps I should take the form to the local Aspergers drop-in surgery and ask their advice. And I will definitely ring the health visitor today to ask about the prescription, and will investigate the incontinence service too.

George - welcome to my girlie diary ;) here's some blokey beer, just for you!!

Unfortunately I did manage to fall for the first man that crossed my path, and he wasn't even a stripper OR carrying jaffa cakes!! How crap!!!

I'm slowly getting over him (whilst still seeing him on a semi-regular basis.....like THAT will help ) and have been on couple of dates, but it's early days and it's all a bit daunting to be honest! But sort of fun.... :o:D

I know lots of AS kids who do get DLA Snaggles.....erm I don't cos I took one look at the form and shoved it in a drawer........I've finally applied now but apparently I'd have had a much better chance of getting both care and mobility under 16 as Josh doesn't do well with the unpredictability of public transport and the crowds. If you got mobility at the higher level (I know it sounds unlikely but I do know AS kids who do ) then you'd not be worrying about insurance and MOT as you'd qualify for a lease car under the mobility scheme. It's a foul form to complete because you have to be all negative and doomy (did my head in -in the end I got DWP to scribe for me as I have a form phobia anyway and it was all too stressful but they were lovely-I did fill it out online but the DLA computer ate it first time LOL) but if you get it-it'd be a godsend. Waiting on my decision now - I'll let you know.

Thanks :) I do feel upbeat most of the time. The first few months were really hard, and I struggled to stay on top of housework/bills/work etc. Which is odd, as I used to do all those things anyway.

I think it's just a case of finding new routines and having to be a bit more disciplined, and some days I am truly rubbish at it, but I'm getting there!

And I feel for the first time ever, I am finding 'me' (sounds naff! :o) and starting to understand what I want/like/need (and no I don't mean that in a rude way you filthy lot :rotfl:). I actually have opinions....I have never had opinions before! I listen to the music I like, I watch the TV I like (and it's switched off in between - who knew it had an off switch???!!!), I go to bed late, get up early, and no-one moans or complains or throws me dirty looks for disturbing them! It's fab! :rotfl:

Hi Duchy, lovely to see you - good luck with the DLA form. I've actually pretty much filled mine in (took hours!) so I really ought to at least submit it and see what happens. :o Do let me know how you get on - fingers crossed.

Hey Tigz, good news on your OH moving in but I know what you mean - I think I'm liking being single a bit too much sometimes!

    Yep! :T :T

I thought I'd be lonely but I rarely am.

I have Monday night to myself (sometimes my mate pops over for a drink), Tuesdays the lovely Tigtag comes round for tea, or I go to her house, Wednesdays I work, then in the evening Stu puts the kids to bed and I go for a run or to the gym, Thursdays I work, then alternate Fri/Sat/Sun, I either spend with the kids, or if Stu has them, I see friends or....occasionally.....go on dates!

I'm sure I will want a proper relationship eventually, but for now, I'm happy as I am. :)
