HI Snaggles - glad you found the extra cash. It sounds like you have a plan. Just coming along to wish you luck on your journey. Good about the sharesaves maturing -- takes some pressure off for you.
I would try for prescription night wear for your DS again - explain you are a single parent and you need all the help you can get. It is worth a shot.
Just a thought... a friend of mine has a son with aspergers - she gets a carers allowance and disability living allowance type thing for him which makes a massive difference. Have you looked into that for him. It may be worth around £30 or so extra week from memory. Also she found great success by altering her DS's diet to exclude gluten, lactose etc that she read about on the internet. He changed from a child that hadn't looked her in the eyes for years to an affectionate child within weeks. He still has some social problems, he doesn't understand nuances in conversations but he is bright and has been doing well in mainstream school.... Might be worth looking into...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Re the grocery budget - I'm hoping that Natasha might potty train over the summer. And Ryan WAS having medication for his night time bedwetting (it's part and parcel of the Aspergers Syndrome) but I stopped giving it during the split, because it was just stressing him if he had accidents. Thought it better to wait, and tackle it again once he was more settled. Maybe the time is right to do that now.
I allow £70 per week for all groceries, but without the nappies/pyjama pants, that could immediately come down to a much more reasonable £55. It includes all cleaning products and some toiletries too.
Prudent - just noticed that I cross posted this with you - nice to see you too.
I did ask about whether we could have the night time pants on prescription but was told no. I will ask again though.
BenBen - that's actually a fantastic idea for the 13th payment. I will have a look and see when the extra payment will fall. *mwah*
(and yes, single person discount included in the council tax payment)
Edit - Ooooh, the extra payment falls in November - that's rather handy!!
Nice to see you back in diary land:D Just a thought re the above, would it be worth contacting your local incontinence advisory service and seeing if they can help? I know it is for a child, but when DD2 was born because of her condition we were entitled to free nappies.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Hmmm, another one of 'those' female diaries.

I'll just sneak back out before anyone asks me to start on the wallpaper.
Just wanted to say i'm sorry about the grief you've had on your journey and the breakup. I'm glad you're coming out the other end okay and finding yourself once again. Just don't fall for the first handsome stripper that comes along wielding a box of jaffa cakes.

Definitely keep on at them for some sort of help with Ryan's condition - you surely must be able to get DLA or something for him - don't take No for an answer.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
