Hi there
YES I have my receipt of Recorded Delivery..
I can't believe companies like this can operate - I have a feeling it will take a LONG time but I have registered my dispute and hope it will result in a response.
Have you checked your recorded delivery number at the royal mail website to see if the parcel has been signed for?0 -
Excuse me LinasPilibaitisisbatman
I am entitled to a refund - why are you making an attack on me for "spending money I didn't have?"
Is that a valid reason not to refund? So online stores don't need to deal with people like me is that what you're saying?

The parcel has not shown that it has been signed for, only the date it was sent. Will chase with Royal Mail.Ivory_Tinkler wrote: »Have you checked your recorded delivery number at the royal mail website to see if the parcel has been signed for?Achievements:

Your entitled to a refund in 30 days therefore why are you attacking the company before those 30 days?0 -
Wellllll... yes and no.The_Pedant wrote: »Under the Distance Selling Regulations (which cover the purchase of most goods bought online from a business), the company has 30 days to provide the refund, starting from the day after the goods were sent back to them.
They should actually refund as soon as possible and at the latest 30 days. A company which systematically waits till the 30th day to process the refund is really exercising poor business practice.
Moomin, the fact that they seem to be unreachable would certainly send alarm bells ringing for me as well, but you can't actually do anything until the 30 days are up.
Oh, and as for the nasty comments, don't take them to heart, some people make it their life occupation to try and antagonise others, if you ignore them, they soon stop.
You have a legitimate worry, you came for advice, you did the right thing.

providing proper contact details when you buy is a legal, not optional, DSR requirement
A po box is NOT a sufficient contact address

You will need it showing as delivered and signed for to win the paypal claim so get nagging the RM today.
Unfortunately my own experience with RM and recorded delivery is pretty poor, but it does sometimes take a while to update.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for your advice. It seems there are various avenues I can try so will dig out that RM receipt tonight!Achievements:

After a month of chasing my parcel with the Royal Mail, it has turned up today on my doorstep returned to me.
The note said reason for return was "Sender gone away"
They had tried to deliver but it ended up at the National Returns Office - RM customer services said it was because I didn't have a returns address on it, but when my parcel arrived back it was clearly written on the back.
As it has now been well over a month that I posted it, Danceshoes2U got back to me shortly after I opened my dispute and said they had no record of the parcel's attempted delivery.
I have been emailed by Paypal to say the dispute will close on the 11th May if I don't escalate it, but do I have any chance?
I still need a refund but the parcel has been returned and the whole thing has taken unbelievably long.
Today I emailed DanceShoes2U to double check I have the right address but they may not reply now till Monday when the Paypal dispute will be closed.
What should I do?Achievements:

I think that you can only send it again though I don't know how much the postage is costing and it will be at your cost. You may possibly get RM to refund you on one postage cost partly in goodwill because they have taken so long to deliver / return the goods to you. If possible, take a photo of the labelling of the packaging showing your return address.
However, the problem is that they attempted to deliver for you but the retailer wasn't present. I can't remember how long RM will hold items for whilst they wait for the intended recipent to claim it but its not long - I vaguely recall that you could easily miss the opportunity to collect the mail if say you had taken a short holiday.
You won't get a refund unless the goods are returned. If the goods are "returned to sender" next time, it may suggest that the seller is intentionally preventing the receipt of returns and therefore your grounds for claiming would have to be through Paypal.0
