Of course, if users from the US can access it, then the RIAA will want their cut as well. ;)

Because you cant download there videos without having software etc, i want the videos and pics to just be straight downloadable by registered users etc

Ill admit ive downloaded youtube videos which may have been copyrighted but ive had to download them and then convert the files etc to work with my ipod or phone etc

I want to offer a video of U2 at Wembley for example, you register then are able to download the video in AVI, WMV, MP4 format or whatever formats are available

Well for starters, you can very easily download YouTube videos in mp4 format without using any additional software if you know how.

Secondly, if you're going to be allowing downloads (as opposed to just streaming media), then you're into a whole other ball game. Apple hardly makes any money from iTunes because the licensing fees are so high; you'd have to pay some of those fees, and you wouldn't be making any money from the downloads. You'd also have a huge bandwidth bill.

Most, if not all, of you revenue would come from advertising. You will only be able to make serious money selling advertising once your site is a success, and in the meantime it would cost a lot of money to set up and maintain. You're also competing with some very big players (it's harder to think of a bigger player in the online world than Google).

I know may not be the point but none of these videos are not going to be professional, theyll literally be done by attendees of the gig/concert who have already paid there money for the gig ticket so putting it online wont cause "revenue" loss

If anything the videos will only want more people to attend the attraction of the concerts and it's free advertising too?

Copyright still exists in the works, and permission needs to be sought to record them for anything other than "private and domestic use". You want to exploit the recordings for commercial purposes, so your use wouldn't qualify.

Have a look at sections 182 and 183 of the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988. You will certainly need a competent lawyer before attempting any of this.

Ok, cool. To be honest i just wanted to make a video website and music being a passion of mine would have been great, maybe shouldnt go for this then haha.

Its a shame though because everyone nowadays has some gadget with them which takes photos, videos etc and the quality is only going to get better in time. I think the copyright laws have to be amended with these tech advancments in mind.

Whats the point in making a video of a gig or taking a picture if you cant share it with your friends etc!? Beats me!

You can take pictures and videos for your own personal use. YouTube doesn't check every video before it's uploaded to see if it contains copyrighted content, but they do remove such videos when drawn to their attention. Viacom want $1 billion from YouTube for the unauthorised use of their content.

Don't let me discourage you though; it's certainly something you can pursue if you want. Just make sure everything is all legal first.
