There's a simple rule that i was told when i fell in love with a house because of its view:
If you dont own the view, you cant guarentee it.
Prime example in our town: 1970's built estate on a hill, considered to be a prestigous development and cost alot compared to the rest of town back then. Most houses had gorgeous views out across fields and to the sea.
Now they have a gas terminal in the middle. It was built on greenbelt as it was considered to be a necessary installation. Residents were told it would be there for 20years, 20 years have now been and gone and they have been granted and extention for another 20years.
There are numerous sites around the town that were designated green belt and now have housing or industry on them as it was considered essential. When the industry leaves it can becomes brownbelt if there were no clauses that it was to return to its original state. This has already happened on some sites, and a whole new housing estate pops up in its place and there isnt much chance that'll ever go away.
I hate to be so down about this, but if the main reason for purchasing somewhere was for the view and this happened it really would ruin your day!!:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
Hi everyone,
Just a quick update. We've been asking around and word is it was bought for animal grazing so I'm quite happy with that! It's far enough away that any smells won't affect us, so anything that's not a building (or a caravan site!
) will make us happy! Not 100% of course but we were told by two people so I think we're happy enough for time being! Really appreciate all your advice and experiences.
Thank you.0
