thanks beanie - I have been amazed at the support I have been given! And a lot came from MSE & DFW - people who I have never met, and who don't have a lot of cash to spare - truly amazing!

  • Oh my word - Hypno you never cease to amaze! It quite took my breath away when I saw the total you've raised that Beanielou hinted at. Mencap will be able to do so much with that sum of money.

Be proud, be VERY proud. Gosh, I don't even know you and I'm almost in tears :o Thank you for being such an inspiration :D

PS: I too noticed the ages of the elite women runners, so you've no excuse for 2010 :D

Morning all.......I slept so well last night - just a shame it was not for a few hours more! My aches are less today as well, so I am recovering!!

I picked up another lunchtime mystery shop for next week.....I've had a bit of a break from them but am starting to keep my eyes open again for the easy (and particularly the coffee/lunch) ones.

Off to do scratchcards and banking......have a good day everyone!

  • Morning, well done on the total. If those pics were of me i'd be crawling on my hands and knees!!!!

On the student front I mean't to ask - have you worked out how much of the £4000 becomes financial profit after you have paid out the food, transport, extra elec etc? i am guessing you would use a fair bit of it, so if you don't have a student you aren't actually losing £4K.

To be fair, I don't think it costs much more to have 5 in the house, than it does to have 4......making food go a bit further involves putting an extra couple of carrots in the casserole and adding some bulgar wheat for bulk.....an extra load of washing each week, and one more light on in the house.

It probably doesn't actually cost more than about £10-15 a week to "keep" the student, whereas we get paid £128 per week, so profit wise it was well worth doing!!

But it is the "space" both physically and mentally, that I am needing........and just not having to "think" about an extra person and their logistics etc!

Right, best get ready for work........
