Wow just looked up some images of the new kubuntu 9.04, pretty nice, think i might load it to my new laptop along with vista, does this mean i would have to put all my data on there twice or not?Back by no demand whatsoever.0

If Kubuntu has read/write access to the partition Vista is on, you should be able to leave your data where it is.0

its far quicker than loading windows/ubuntu/kubuntu etc.
and, yes ubuntu has read/write access to an ntfs partition. Ubuntu 9.04 (and kubuntu/edubuntu 9.04) are currently in beta, so use the 8.10 release for now0 -
yes, id already said that was the first thing i tried and anyways, and whats that all about it being released tomorrow then?Back by no demand whatsoever.0

its likely to be a little buggy, so i'd wait a month or so to let more experienced users find any bugs there are and give them time to fix the bugs.0 -
ha, once youve had vista no bug is suprising.
but seriously, im not inexperienced with ubuntu itself, just booting from a cd. cant say ive used kubuntu though but from what i understand it just uses KDE not gnome right? oh and it looks better. lol.
by the way the ubuntu i tested was 8.10 but i ordered the new one for permanent use. any idea if kubuntu will run on a ps3?Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

you need to make sure that you download a powerpc version of your chosen distro. yellow dog linux is the 'official' distro for the ps3.
you can find a list of ubuntu/kubuntu relases for the ps3 here0
