If you check out the latest issue of balance (if you don't receive it there will be copies at your local diabetes centre) there are always free meters available. Would suggest that you look for the smallest sample size for your dad, as well as a decent screen size. Average sample is 0.5ul and smallest is 0.3ul. feeling quite pleased that these don't seem to be selling particularly well on e bay at the moment and would encourage anyone who is diabetic to join diabetes uk or ask at the diabetes clinic next time you need a meter or finger pricker.0

Thanks OP got mine today and gave it to my dad. He had to pay for his last one and it is quite old now. It arrived really quickly too, I only enetered my details a few days ago. Hes started using it straight away.
Really pleased that this is a great freebie which is extremely useful for diabetics. :T:T:T:T0 -
Shame I missed this as need a new one. Was diagnosed type 2 four years ago and had to pay for my own meter. Nurse didnt tell me how to get one free :mad:0
