I have diabetes! Alas, I'm still selling it though because I have an Abbott reader and I need to pay my student loan debts off
I ordered and received one of these for my three year old son who has a genuine need for it! We only requested another meter as his current one is much more difficult to use. We too have debts but would not even consider stooping so low as to abuse a genuine medical need for monetary gain! Luckily we received a meter but had you not requested one someone with a greater need may have benefitted.0 -
My husband was diagnosed as diabetic and he was given a free blood monitor by our practice nurse.
Hi as a paediatric case Matthew is also entitled to a free meter from his diabetes clinic but as he is so tiny (only three!) this is the perfect meter for him as it is small and easy to use - the clinic did not have this choice and the ones they do have available require bigger blood samples - sometimes it is great to have a choice of something different and it is great that the companies do this.0 -
where do i click to recieve one
Thanks x0 -
I'm sorry for offending people - I'm a student and thought it would be an easy way of earning a tenner - I'm on support grants and all; money is very, very tight.
However, I see the errors of my ways and I guess the only benefit is that other people with diabetes can see this and get a meter. Apologies. xMcLovin? Who are you, an Irish R n B singer?0 -
I got one for my mum last month
they are fabulous machines and make it much easier for diabetics to read
especially the elderly as the display screen is very bright and well displayed :j
I am not diabetis and would NOT have sold it for any amount.
I too am disgusted people think this is a money making scheme :mad:Life is what you make it;)0 -
This month's BALANCE magazine has several offers for free trials of machines and a computer programme. BALANCE is a magazine for diabetics and I believe it is only available if you are a member of Diabetes UK. I am sorry but I am not posting any links , any genuine diabetic will have access to this magazine either at their doctor's, diabetes clinic or possibly a library.0

sorry but to sell these on ebay is just wrong!! doesnt matter if you have diabetes or not, if you dont want it then dont apply for it then:mad: there are genuine people in need of good monitors and they are losing out because someone wants to make a quick buck!!
my son has type 1 and i put the thread on about the new aviva the first time round and stated quite clealy in my post, do not apply if you dont have diabetes and only if you are in need of it
these are fantastic monitors, my son loves his, so please leave well alone unless you really need them!0
