I only recently took all mine out. Was paying just 0.75%!
I'd rather have seen savings tax looked at, instead of making people jump through hoops at a time when most ISA's pay less than a standard account.
But, every little helps I guess
You can get 7.05% at first direct0 -

I have a whole bucket of cash to put in my ISA, to take it to 5.1k, unfortunately, the only good thing in the budget for me won't come in until next year.:rolleyes:0 -

There is a room on the floor below to discuss such matters !!
This floor is for arguing about everything, and hurling abuse !!!!'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

"regular saver" but it accepts a transfer,
"transfer any ISA balances to us, held with other providers, from previous or current tax years. (Transfers from existing first direct ISAs are not permitted)."0 -
all forecasts have always proven to be inaccurate especially as at any given time there are at least 10-11 'respectable' forecast (IFS, ITEM, IMF etc etc) which are all different.
However, if you were going to have a competition to find the worst forecast you'd probably pick the one that:
a) usually gets it more wrong than the others
b) has a strong bias (ie always seems to underestimate how bad it will be)
The Treasury win on both counts. They are to economic forecasting what the Wilsons are to horse racing.0 -

Waiting for a new version of this graph, which can accomodate the 12.4% GDP of borrowing in 2009/10 = off the scale, in many senses;0

Sky have on air said that IMF say -4.1% this year, -0.4% next year, for growth...
...already rubbishing the latest set of unrealistic forecasts from the Chancellor.0 -
