Never going to happen in this budget though.In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -

Yep.
I only recently took all mine out. Was paying just 0.75%!
I'd rather have seen savings tax looked at, instead of making people jump through hoops at a time when most ISA's pay less than a standard account.
But, every little helps I guess0 -

I stand corrected (and surprised)

Annual limit for tax-free ISAs increased to £10,200, of which £5,100 can be saved in cash. New limit introduced this year for over-50s, next year for others.In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
According to BBC "at a glance";
"Annual limit for tax-free ISAs to rise to more than £10,000 for over-50s this year and for everyone else next year"0 -
May I also add, as this is a budget thread, how much it annoys me that Brown now claims the credit for low interest rates by saying "we have lowered".
No doubt when they go up the BOE will be independant again.
Dunno why the BOE allow it to be honest.0 -
