My mortgage interest rate is lesser than my regular savings accounts so I pay into them and once they mature, I will pay a lump sum into my mortgage, so just in the spirit of the "Mass Overpayment Day", I have paid £10 into my mortgage today:j

If i had a mortgage in my own right i would be over paying but i will not till September, so hopefully i will join in soon.
Why is life so complicated?:j rolo-polo1965 :j0 -
Couldn't overpay today, because I went to the pub, boooo!
Still paid the £100 standing order that we started a couple of months agp and will pay just over £300 on monday.
Can I just ask with a mortgage rate of 6.1% and low rates of around 1-2% in terms of savings, if you had 6k in savings how much would you keep in there and how much would you use to pay a bit off the mortgage? Baring in mind we both have fairly stable jobs *fingers crossed*0 -
I'm not sure, but my dad has a secret stash of £3k and that's what I do too, nobody knows about my £3k 'cos they'd have it spent already.
Enough to clear the bills for 2months, I certainly hope I wouldn't be unemployed any longer than that if I lost my job?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
