  • Wow, I wish I would of found this thread sooner. Better late then never ;)

I was trying to think of something creative to do, but sadly my OH is the creative one in the family ;) My best idea so far, and the one I'm going to go with is.......pay $10 extra on my mortgage for every reply in this thread.

As I'm typing this there are currently 40 replies (mine will be 41) so I have to overpay by $410. The total amount will continue to go up, officially stopping on July 4th, 9pm (pacific time zone).

I plan on paying for this by working overtime and weekends. (right now is a busy time of year for me, and my boss is allowing as much overtime as we want)

I've been planning to join this board for ages now and this thread seems like a great way to jump in and make the pledge with the reast of you.

My Halifax regular saver is maturing on the 3rd July, so perfect timing for a big overpayment on the 4th.

With loads of hard work, and some old fashioned restraint, we are hoping to clear our mtge in 18 months time, 13 years early! We shall wait and see if that happens, but without the plan to do so we definately wouldn't have come so far so soon.

I'm in the odd position that if I pay off my mortgage early then I lose money!!! Long story, no hints, but my thoughts and support is with you all, well done. I'm putting any money I can raise to doing up the house .... looking forward to having a bath fitted in the next 2 months :) Don't worry, we have a shower already so I'm not that wiffy .... lol
If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!! :D
