Michelle, big hugs for you x 4.15am :rotfl: does the head have young children or do they drink coffee all day :D I love going on a bead hunt :) my son used to cry because he was scared of the bear lol
Witchypoo happy new cooker, I just love new appliances. I have a £600 cooker sat in the garage I can't use because of the fitted one here :(
mummy2mygirls I agree, spend all the time with that little one you can, housework can wait. Congratulations by the way!
    3tabbycats try wordpad instead
Gratefulforhelp I just gave a massive amount of wood to someone with a burner when we had the trees cut over the last few days, agreed make friends with a tree surgeon the one we used now has Freecycle details so he can pass to customers
Hex sorry to hear about the hen, I'd still cry workig animals or not :o Oh and previously yes I did, until we moved then I used the chipped ones on the last nights we were at the old house and smashed them dirty into the bin that night!
Soappie and greenbee best of luck with the jobs stuff!
Flower well done to your DD
nicki and mozzy hope you both feel better soon
    pigpen ((super hugs))
kaz sounds like you're still enjoying the caravan, really pleased :) Which Lakes site did you stay on? I am booking one in Cumbria/Lakes direction so looking for ideas
Jayjay, scales must have been broken or something lol, actually IIRC from my very ex (over 10 years ago) training days men did used to loose large amounts in the first week then I think most put a little back on
    ladybirdintheuk happy new kitchen!
Mudbath, thinking of your Dad (and the rest of the family as always a worry x)

Been a busy few days, one assignment done and another partly started (due tomorrow) Going to work on that tonight and tomorrow. Weather had picked up here (cloudy at the mo but keeps blowing over) so got 2 loads then I am caught up with mount washmore woohooooo!! Problem is now it all needs putting away/sock sorting which I hate!

DS2 managed to get an insect bite when we were away and due to his 'if it's on my skin I have to pick it' problem he's managed to get it infected, it's now about 6 inches wide and has a smaller 'volcano' we have named it, ended up at doctors yesterday and they gave ABs and the nurse has dressed it, has to have them changed daily so will be back tomorrow again to get it redone, poor things patched up from his arm pit to his belly button.

DP got a smoothie maker off his Dad, not as if I don't have 2 machines that could make them and zero space in the kitchen but for some reason he actually wants to use it so I best go supervise...
One day I might be more organised...........

Lil-me - hope DS's bite heals real quick

Got home to find an invitation from my sister to an 'at home' to celebrate her engagement. About time her and her bloke formalised their relationship! I'm really pleased for her. Not sure if I'll go as it's up in north London. It depends if they can put me up for the night. I wouldn't want to drive all the way up there and not be able to toast because I'd have to drive all the way back again (and the thought of taking the train on a Saturday with all them engineering works fills me with horror!)

    Off to fly

    Hi everyone

Have been AWOL again today and the rest of the week is now a write off! Was ringing for the other funeral and getting some edging bits for the back garden with mum's 15% off card ;) Whilst at the funeral I had a call asking me to work extra tomorrow at a local branch so some extra £ there :D would be rude to say no. Then of course work as normal on Thurs and Fri.

Just caught up here, hugs and positive vibes in particular for soappie, greenbee, mudbath and her dad, lil_me's DS, and philb.

WTG Julie on the star :D I had assumed you got loads in the past as you are so busy and so early in the mornings!

HUGS to everyone, off to get dinner ready and fold some washing.

Thanks lil_me :) Have been happily cleaning it and reading the manual, and burning off the ovens to help rid them of that new chemical odour. Oh how annoying I bet you love that one in the garage :(

I even got a new cream enamel whistling kettle from a charity shop, to replace ours which wasn't looking too bad so I will keep the old one. Prestige no less! Looks lovely on the black stove top!

The guy on the till said it was brought in today by a landlord of a nearby flat, who said the tenant had skipped out on him without paying and so he was dumping any stuff they'd left. I thought for an awful moment he was about to tell me the owner had just died or something. Anyway it was unused and still had the stickers on! Not bad for £4 :) I've given it a good clean as I would if it came from a regular shop, and boiled it twice and tipped. I hope that person really has abandoned their stuff...

    Hi all
I've caught up with the thread, but now can't remember most of it... Ah well. Lets see...

Congrats to Flower's DD for getting into uni, and witchypoo on the new cooker, good job vibes to Soappie, Greenbee and Phil, hugs to everyone else.

Tried to do some washing today, and the machine spat its dummy out so I've wasted two quid on that grrrrr. And have to wait even longer for it to be done.

But.... *drumroll please* me and boyfriend have had a proper chat about doing jobs in the flat (I feel like I do everything, he doesn't understand what needs to be done). So we've decided that Monday, Wednesday and Thursday I'll buy groceries and do the cleaning, and he'll cook, and vice versa on the other days. So I'll have to print the lists for him the night before so he knows what to do. I feel like we've really moved forward in the last few weeks :o:rolleyes:

Got my french oral exam in exactly a week, so going to go and print off crib sheets for the different topics, and try to learn them. And give the kitchen a final go over (our plan starts tomorrow lol)

    Lots of love and hugs

Hi Miss A - are you pleased to be back at school? Did you enjoy sleeping in the tent? xx

Thats 7 done 6 to go -treatment went well thanks to all your kind thoughts.

The ceiling and walls have had new plasterboard put up - there is wiring for new downlights which will go on after the ceiling has been painted and a couple of other little electrical jobs hav4e been done too.
The place looks like a bombsite - well not the kitchen because most of the stuff is in the LR along with all the painter's stuff for tomorrow for taping the joins and putting up covingand the coving itself is lying on the floor as it was the safest place to leave it- the fridge will be living in the LR for a wee while too!:eek:
I have mopped the kitchen floor and washed the worktops as everywhere was covered in dust but thats it and I am tired.

    toots xx
    Peace will be mine

  • Good evening everyone.

Well I've been very busy since lunchtime cleaning the kitchen to an inch of its life. Actually it didn't take very long as I keep it clean and tidy every day now, but the fridge had definitely been overlooked for a few days - a jug of cream with significant penicillin growth going on, and various other spills and smears:eek:. However, all nice and clean and hygienic now.

I have now completed today's list and have also completely cleaned the bathroom and tidied the bedroom; so please may I have today's star toots :j:j
