So as not to antagonise other readers of this forum, this'll be the last reply you'll be getting from me.
Good bye
Don't be like that :-).....was hoping to get your bills down....blood pressure permitting. I do a cold water 'gentle refresh' twice a week, uses no hot water and very little cold water. Not on for long so minimal electric, tho do an occasional 40 degree wash for soiled clothes.
I see there is a Staywarm Stickie.0 -
Mike, I always thought with PowergenOnline tariff you had to have a standing charge? If you didnt want standing charge then I thought you had to have Standard Gas and Standard Electric Tarriff
I just have a gas oven at home, with an electric emersion heater and communal hotair(awful) heating which we pay separately for, so my gas is I think something like 780kwH per year, quite low if I got my figures right.Electric 6600kWH.
At the moment I think the discounts received for being on PowergenOnline makes it worth paying for the standing charge...............but the maths is a bit beyond me really0 -

bit of the topic
my electric reading was taken today and powergen are putting their charges up from tomorrow10/03/2006
will they charge me new price?
I think you will find that as it is rare for meter readings to fall due on price change dates, the companies will apportion the usage and standing charges for the quarter accoding to the number of days pre increase and the numner of days post increase.0 -
I put exactly the same figures into energyhelpline and simplyswitch.
One said I'd save £200 a year and one said £130, both with London Energy.
Anybody any idea as to why the difference?
Powergen Online is my fourth or fifth supplier/tariff. Don't hang around, just switch, but watch out for exit charges.
Anyone know if London Energy/EDF has penalties for switching out? They didn't a few years ago when I dumped them for someone else. Do you think if I gave them a bunch of flowers they'd take me back?
Anyway, £200 or £130 saving, I'm off to switch. £15 pound cashback and nectar points (they're rubbish - go Amex cashback!)0 -
QUOTE "I'm about to move from them to Npower. I know Martin's advice is to wait until all companies have announced there price rises, but Npower have already announced theirs and (for me) their prices after the increase are cheaper than Powergen's before the increase"
Have you heard the news Npower have just put their prices up YET AGAIN 2nd time in 3 months WOW0
