Sure i have read somwhere the appeal numbers are up and also the success rate ?

That would make logical sense. The more appeals, the more success rates due to that. I is also good at de maffs.
One could chase one's tail! (And probably is.)

Unfortunately, like everything, it's the advantage-takers who have messed it up for the rest. I find that good, hard evidence that you are doing as much as you can self-help-wise (ie, counselling etc) tends to bolster your ammunition. Sit back and sound narked (you're angry...but don't let them know that!) and they'll tar you with the same brush.

If u get wot I meen. Innit.

A possible reason for the appeals success rate going up is the fact that there are more appealable decisions now than there used to be. That is the case with ESA at least. Not 100% about IB.

  • Lady - if it wasn't for the main *facts* that the test is subjective and the QC found out the mindset was to deny legal entitlements - then there is a possibility you may be correct.

    As it is....

    ;)

There's to much philosophy & it's late, stop drinking Red Bull!! I can't take it in to comment back. I do see your point. More than I can say for my keyboard. Think I need sleep :p

In a flash of inspiration.....everything in life is subjective if you think about it. I think. I think, therefore I am.

I am what?! Never quite understood that.

This is just the reconsideration stage though for the 7 pages, it will probably go to appeal not sure what I'll do then. Are you saying they tried to make you pay back the benefit they gave you while it went through the appeal process?
    No.

In September 1998 I found we had no money to pay food bill - so checked bank account and they had not paid IB since July - so I made an appeal.

Needless to say, I should have been notified ( Adjudication Officers Guide - Failure to notify 03205).

    In October I recieved
the appeal documentation - which contained lies and deception - accusing me of fraud - also asked for money they reckon was overpaid through this so-called fraud.

That explains unemployment figures but not numbers claiming ill health benefits.
Dont be so silly..of course it does!
The double-ing of workload...The increase of resonsibility..the increase of hours worked... the demise of health and safety...and the new breed of managers and bossed who still till today dont regognise employers are resonsible for their employees wellbeing........ALL contribute to the increase in sickness and illhealth in the country.

Something is going on!..The amount of people comming to my legal office complaning about lies pertaining to medical exam documentation has doubled.
I just cannot see any reason why medical exam conversations cannot be recorded

I'm not going to put a level on my depression but its bad enough that when I take a day off I tend to spend most of the day in bed obsessing on the many problems in my life, but, I guess that isnt really what my point was previously.

    prevously you also said
I havent had a day sick in years though.

    .
so do you have days of sick or not you seem to contradict your self

    You are joking, aren't you?

And what statistics are you using to justify your final statement? Hopefully not the numbers claiming sickness benefits!

Sometimes when people are feeling under par they take a day's leave. Not everybody throws a sickie at the drop of a hat!

Like I say - no conspiracy - just a group mindset that wants cost savings and to cut claimant numbers.
