And what statistics are you using to justify your final statement? Hopefully not the numbers claiming sickness benefits!
Its common knowledge for those people not suffering from osterich syndrome or longing to be a yank wannabee.
AND health and safety and wellbeing in the workplace is no joking matter.

I suppose that means that you have NO statistics to back up your sweeping statements that "COMPARED with our European mainland colleagues the health of the UK IS DIRE! " If you can't give sources for your facts then you can't expect to have your views taken seriously.
And no, I am neither an "osterich"(sp) or a lover of "Yank" values.0 -
I dont need stats..i have my own eyes..in the 1980s onwards as a union rep in the NW and east of Wales i have seen workers worked into the ground...having to work through meal breaks, work longer hours having to cover through holidays, sick sceams stopped so people having to go to work ill,..having double workloads..bosses bringing in "yes" menOldernotwiser wrote: »I suppose that means that you have NO statistics to back up your sweeping statements that "COMPARED with our European mainland colleagues the health of the UK IS DIRE! compared with Europe our workers health is dire wheather you care to believe it or not...and i dont give a toss about something written in google pertaining to stats or figures.
ps..go to Cardiff..or Merthyr.. or mold in North wales....and use that to benchmark your comments.Child of a Fighting Race.0 -

And that's why your arguments will carry little weight, without proof behind them.
I probably agree with you more than you think but I don't belief in arguing these issues on emotions and ignorance.0 -

Yep - you deserve your name
Some others seem to have the same problem with English that you do: alwaysonthego, bestpud, healy, ladyrider260 and LondonDiva.
To explain: I wrote: "the test is merely a means to get sick people off legally entitled benefits" - that simply means the test is unfair - as Queen's Counsel Mr PL Howel found out.
Indeed, my findings show that more people are failed on the test every year e.g. in 1996 there was 103,087 (15%); 1997 nearly double the number at 205,748 (20%) and 1998 it was up to 217,557 (22%).
I do not have a problem with English, I just do not agree with some of the paranoid rubbish that you come out with.
I see little point in you quoting our names and profiles when we thank someone else who does not agree with you, very petty.0 -

depession is not just a case of sadness, obsessing over thing etc... .
i can tell you mine comes with auditory/visual hallucination, delusion and paranoia and extreme mood swing which made my day to day living very difficult !
altough i have some other psychaitric illness too which play a big part into my severe depression .
what peopel must realise that there is a big differnce between a mild depression and a severe one. i just been discharged from a psychaitric hospital 2 weeks agos and guess what while i was under they care my boss was telling my work colleague that i was on a long term holydays and work shy ! until she came to visit me one day and she had a quick glimpse of what severe depression is and she coudln't get out any faster !BSC number 1830 -

Damn thanked you for that comment by accident.
I do not have a problem with English neither! What sources did you use for your statistics, or are they made up ones from your paranoid world! If you are a true academic shouldn't you be backing up your post with a reference list?0 -

In the world of work they have this thing called Annual leave - I can also accrue hours towards leave.prevously you also said
so do you have days of sick or not you seem to contradict your self
beisdes not everyone with depression would benefit from being around others or working
So, I repeat, I have not had a day of sick leave in well over two years. Almost three now. I sincerely hope that satisfies your curiosity;)0
