I have just received a letter from PROSEARCH with ICI and AKZO NOBEL icons on the paperwork

Anyone heard of prosearch? anyone know whats going on?
I was an ICI shareholder many moons ago but thought I had sold all my shares
I note Prosearch will take 12.5% + VAT - although as this is free money I am not sure I am too worried about this

Please advise

i owned hundreds of ICI shares around 2001 - lost a bomb from memory

I thought I had sold the lot - and all me shares.....so its suprising

I phoned them, they claim that the shares are registered to an address (my old house) and therefore when ICI were bought I didnt receive the contact

They dont want any cash up front, just fill in the form, the money which is mine less 12.5% less VAT on the 12.5% (about 200 punds all in) will be sent to me

Guess I should find out how I do it with paying the 200 £

Dont have a certificate anywhere - just searched the attic

any advice on how I do it myself from here?

If they don't want anything up front then personally I would let them claim the cash, make the deduction and have the rest. After all, if it were not for them, you would never have known, seems fair they get paid for it.

in yrs gone by, I would have agreed.....and seen it as a bonus

However, my name OH NO ANOTHER DEBT FREE WANNABEE

give you a clue, that things are very tough, and £200 extra is money I could use to pay off other creditors, so I am going to be tight and lookm after myself

any views on next steps please guys? presumably I need to find a registrar and ask if they have a record of me?
