Lycamobile
Just thought I would say how good Lycamobile is (https://www.lycamobile.co.uk) especially if you and partner have same sims. They dont charge for Texts or Calls bewteen Lyca numbers - also some international landlines are just 4p a min. Occasionally they do free offers as well a bit like Easymobile used to.Check their website out, just a happy customer......:T:T:T

There are several such SIM brands with cheap international calls. Why do you keep starting unsolicited threads about only one?0
-
Firstly - if you are suggesting I earn from such posts you are wrong , lets get that one out of the way,I do it because there are people who see other ones such as IKEA and think they are the only ones, yes Lebara do one as well - I have said how good they are before, If I think people may save some money from a post then I post it, some people on here are not so savvy as others and need to know whats available. I have picked up valuable advice from many by personal recommendation - usually the best way of all. Sorry if I seem a bit narked but I do get annoyed by this sort of police style reply - others in the market are:

Your reply is at risk of appearing disingenuous
For cheap international calls there are Globalcell, IDT, Lebara, Lyca, Mobile World, Nomi, Talkmobile, Vectone, plus possibilities on the main networks such as Orange's Camel tariff, international add-on options on O2 T-mobile and 3, callthrough possibilities on T-mobile using Yourcallworld, and some cheap destinations from Vodafone.
You've rarely posted contributions to discussion of or query about any of the others, but keep starting threads called Lycamobile, sometimes at intervals of only a few days. That seems to be taking fandom a little far; I have some roaming SIMs and have posted quite a bit on the subject, but wouldn't choose a favourite and post a new thread about it several times a month
The fact that some of them seem to have been removed might suggest that this has been remarked upon by other people.0 -
Thankyou for your reply - I find the list of great interest.
But fail to see why people like yourself take great offence to someone just passing on a bit of information - especially if I dont get anything from it. However each to his own I spose, Im off now to see what others can offer in this marketplace.Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. :beer:0 -
AVOID LYCAMOBILE!!
The site does not accept my Amex, Visa or Mastercard. It accepts my Visa debit card but doesn't apply the credit. Auto Topup doesn't work and Customer Services are very rude and don't care. I'm now trying to get the money back that hasn't been applied but has still been taken.
Be warned! Avoid them!0 -
I didnt find a problem topping up using a credit card. Though customer services were not native English speaking and preliminary enquiries about their MO were not answered very succinctly and the line was very fuzzy.
Can people who have used this telecoms company answer the question I put to their customer service department. When the current free lyca to lyca deal ends on 31st July what will costs be after that?
The impression I get on this forum is that those calls have been free from about March this year and they are just putting a cautious end date on the offer.0 -
We have Lyca Mobile sims that are used in Orange phones, the website keeps saying upgrade to lycamobile plus sim which from what I understand are new numbers beginning (07404) xxxxxx or (07405) xxxxxx the problem is I think these new sims are connected to o2 - is this correct?
If so that would mean having to buy new phones or use o2 ones which we haven't got so render the new lycamobile sims useless.
Can you stay on the normal lycamobile sims (orange) if you want to or are they going to switch everyone to o2 eventually. Tried ringing 322 cust service but they don't seem to know -just keep saying it's much better to upgrade - rather than answering the question asked.
Also what other mobile operators piggyback on Orange so that if worst comes to worst we can choose another MVNO with cheap calls/free calls0 -
The deal with O2 should not affect the existing Orange arrangements.

PLEASE DONOT EVER USE LYCAMOBILE they are the biggest con merchants I have had the displeasure to be with and there customer services department based in India is a total disgrace. They dont understand English at all.
1. I ported into them back in October 09 from O2 and had days without a number as there cs team had cancelled my port by mistake on the day of the port.....Long story but had to get Orange involved to speak to them on how to resolve the problem....
2. READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CLOSELY and there is no such thing as FREE CALLS and TEXTS with them.
3. Lycamobile on ORANGE charges a connection fee of 15p per CALL even to other Lycamobile customers. So the so called FREE call costs 15p and after a set period think around 15 mins then charges at standard rate.
4. Lycamobile on ORANGE does NOT give free texts to other networks just to other Lycamobile numbers. Conditions apply.
AT CHRISTMAS LYCAMOBILE SENT AN EMAIL AND MESSAGE TO ALL ABOUT LYCAMOBILE PLUS SIM CARDS TO UPGRADE....DONT DO THIS AT ALL
1. Lycamobile PLUS is on O2.......Lycamobile cant transfer any numbers or port and numbers into Lycamobile on O2 at all and you have to use a 074 number REGARDLESS if you are with another operator or Lycamobile Orange. Also you cant port out these new 074 numbers.
2. FREE TEXTS TO ANYONE IN WORLD PROMOTION.......Read the small print not the case as you have to TOP UP EACH WEEK TO GET.
3. FREE LYCAMOBILE PLUS CALLS TO LYCAMOBILE PLUS CALLS...No connection fee HOWEVER you MUST TOP UP EACH WEEK......
4. STANDARD RATES.......watch your account closely with these sharks as they charge you the wrong rates.
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM IN INDIA IS A SHAME THEY CUT YOU OFF AND DO NOT TAKE YOUR CALLS SERIOUS........THEY TALK TO YOU LIKE CR*P AND DO NOT GIVE A SH*T.
I asked for my PAC Code of them and they wouldnt give it to me at first as they where saying "Whats the problem" etc and when I explained why they wouldnt listen and cut you off.
Eventually after speaking to O2 I called a company called LYCATEL in London who owns Lycamobile and after OFCOM was involved they eventually gave me my PAC code.......For what reason they didnt give me I dont know.......You have to fight to get your PAC code off them.
If you have issues with Lycamobile DO NOT CALL 322 on your mobile waste of time. Call LycaTel on 020 75366450 and DEMAND you speak to an English speaking person about your problems.
Hurray I leave them next week thank god.0 -
I am 100% with Tony. I got a Lyca PAYG to call my boyfriend, as he also has Lyca texts and calls below 15 mins are free. Well that's the theory. But despite the fact I have only called my bloke and Lyca "customer services" ( also "free") I have got though more credit than Alistair Darling. Plus you cannot EVER get through to Customer Services - though from previous posts, it sounds like they are not much good when you do! Avoid0
