    hi all hope your well

well nothing really debt free this week lol
my car is about knackered so my dad loaned me 350 to buy a newer one than mine and its great, but needs taxing at the end of this month grrrr £103 for 6 months, so i am selling my car to a lad for £275 so after paying the increase in insurance, replacing the brake pads and taxing it i can pay him £75 back so owing him £275 which will be paid back asap as he is a moany ole git lol

Garden doing very well so far thanks, lost one lettuce plant to the dratted slugs but they are now covered and slugproofed within an inch of their lives. I say slugs but mostly ours are snails  which I quite often find halfway up the side of the greenhouse trying to sneak in via the tiny window vent - pesky little blighters. Much foot stamping and shell crushing going on here lately:p

  • Hamsterpoo is also having trouble with his 'posh slugs with their own caravans' - he was moving them and they were then escaping!

Spring is here cos everything is waking up.

I love lobbing snails - better than tennis - can you put (secure) a bit of net curtain or something over the vent to let the air in but keep the posh slugs out?

    mcjordi- ergh to cars

    I have:
    • Spent about 3 hours searching for a cheap car, no luck...
    • Checked banking
    • Checked online for phone bill but not there yet
    And I will:
    • [STRIKE]Meals from stores, leftovers all round! Im having spinach and cottage cheese cannelloni (also doing some to freeze) and everyone else is having left over pasta carbonara[/STRIKE] Done
    • [STRIKE]Check seeds, water, and talk nicely to them[/STRIKE] Done, most of the radishes have sprouted, also got 2 cherry toms sprouted, and I think the mystery squash is a pumpkin! Just checked the seed packet and the seed leaves do look alike.
    • [STRIKE]Might plant some more, but never seem to get round to it![/STRIKE] DONE!!!!! I was about to go out and I thought NO! DO THE SEEDS.....so I did lol. 2 demon red chillies, 2 cayenne (keeps OH happy) and did 5 trays: Caulis, pointed cabbage, spinach, peas and dwarf french beans. :j
    • [STRIKE]Washing and line drying[/STRIKE] Ready to do tomorrow, fingers crossed for some sun!
    • [STRIKE]Keep eyes open for cheap banger[/STRIKE] Found one for £995 with MOT but no tax.....bit more than I have, but wondering if I should try the credit union for a small loan to top up what I have
    • [STRIKE]Job search[/STRIKE] Done, also printed suitable ones for step sis and dropped them off
    • [STRIKE]Find DD shoe for school on monday, where is it [/STRIKE] Found hiding under the bed
    • [STRIKE]Start getting uniform and sports kit ready for monday[/STRIKE] DD stuff sorted, DS3 to sort tomorrow
    • [STRIKE]NSD[/STRIKE] Petrol! Drat it!
    • [STRIKE]Check PB[/STRIKE] Might just give up on them again! Got 698 points so far...
    Think thats it......

    EDIT:
    • [STRIKE]Take free dvd back to the library and get another[/STRIKE] Taken back, books out instead of dvd
    • [STRIKE]Keep a look out for tyres for me and step mum for tatties[/STRIKE] Nothing so far!
    • [STRIKE]Got 2 packs of the same toms so will drop a pack of 30 off at step mums, and keep the pack of 95 for me[/STRIKE] Done

Also charged phone in car, nectar points on when I bought petrol and picked up 2 strawberry plants from my mum, hers were going mad so I dug 2 up :D

Any thoughts on the credit union loan for car? I dont even know if I could get one, but just a thought. I would also have to tax the car (how much?) and insurance best quote so far is £23 per month  with RAC and going through quidco for £70. I think Ive been spoilt for the last 3 years :o

Right, off to get the seed trays in, back later!

Good idea fay, think I have a green gauze veg bag somewhere in kitchen that I could cut up and stick on, they shouldn't be able to get through that, the holes are tiny:D

    I have tidied my bedroom!:D
I have found alot of socks
I have found DD's school jumper which we thought was lost

  • Hello All,

Relative newbie to all this but determined to kick the behind of my credit card debt. So today I have . . .

Bagged up £53 of small change to pay into the bank on Monday and then slide it on over to my nasty EGG card

Sorted out some unwanted DVDs/CDs to take to the Music & Video Exchange tomorrow to swap for cold hard cash.
