18th/19th Weekend "What smll dfw things have you done today?" thread.

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

• check online banking
• move money to savings
• update spreadsheets
• storecupboard lunch and tea
• try for low spend day
• water veggie seedlings
• do some pottering in garden
• plant out spring onion seedlings
• do something from my 101 in 1001 challenge
• sparkle
• use lots of smilies to cheer me up
• recycle something
• one lot of laundry hokey cokey for OH
• little bit of ironing for me
• no housework - all done in week:D
• take disabled friend shopping
• park using friends blue badge
• use loyalty vouchers for lattes at macdonalds
• top up DS phone in boots and use double points coupon
• update blog
• ring friend for catch up on free phone
• pop to asda and pick up some bits for friends daughter using savings card - free money from using coupons etc

- checked online banking - there's life in there! Lol! Moved some around & made some payments. :T
- Heating off
- Pot on some seeds
- Start creating operation Eggshell - the slugs have started :eek:
- Shopping for new school shoes for DD - but money comes from separate account and going to Clarks outlet shop so hopefully will get good deal
- Take last of shredded paper to recycling
- 10 comps
- Load car at teatime ready for car boot tomorrow - have to leave home at around 6.45am :eek: but will be home by lunchtime & hopefully make some money!

also heard orange peel and copper works too ..not sure what you use that might have free copper in ..ilined mine with single round the edges too they dont seem to like craweling on it as much

I am off to a wedding later, so will be fed and watered all day in beautiful surroundings, just hope it brightens up a bit later as its very gloomy here at the moment.

This morning I will do quidco clicks and tidy flat, nothing too strenuous as I need a good few hours to make myself beautiful!

[STRIKE]Check for aphids (My new use for stardrops is to use it to kill aphids - a 1/8 cup stardrops in a large squishy bottle and refill with water - tried it a few days ago as I know you can use washing up liquid - aphids all black plant so far looks OK and its been about 5 days - so carefully using this and seeing what happens in the conservatory)[/STRIKE] scrub this one - a couple of the leaves are starting to look a bit 'scorched' - so now I htink I will go back to diulted washing up lliquiid
DD pal being picked up at 11
DS arriving later on beign dropped off
Freecycle bed to pick up but not sure when - - waiting for lady to ring
Grass out front to mow and grass under washing line to mow - little lawns so will use the wee electric mower - no excuse to use our big one

Not sure what else yet - must take library books bak

its the weekend and i have a whole weekend to myself as gave away my extra hours at work this weekend. not very dfw i know but getting tired of working every weekend.

Aiming for a few things today

• find a money tree as it seems i will be buying a new shower as no-one seems to have the part i require to fix my current shower :mad:
• cry as i look at my bank balance - 10 days til pay day and its looking bad this month!
• do my fake tan to cheer myself up a little.
• wait to hear from OH as he is in touch with landlord ofneighbour from hell to find out what is happening there!
• washing on at 40.
• will dry outside in the glorious sunshine
• tidy the housr today!!!!
• wtach free dvd tonight.
• daily clicks/scratch!

Thanks Thanks Thanks for all your kind words yesterday I'll miss her, but I remember her as so full of life and so modest, she would be shocked at how devastated her friends all are.

I have given myself a lengthy to-do list this weekend and am looking forward to acheiving something


So today I have/will:

• on-line banking - and payday is next week, and I have been able to reduce an overdraft :jthis month
• washing in the machine and will be line dried (this one is at 60 -it IS my sheets but the next loads will be at 30 I promise)
• Lots of gardening to do on my list
• must menu plan as I'm going shopping shortly.
• need to photograph some stuff for listing on e-bay.
• clean out and turn off large fridge as Lodger and I won't need 2 fridges (meant to do this DAYS ago )
• a nice evening in tonight, tired from all my physical work

Hi guys, glad to see so many positive posts today. I will post properly later as am off out to massage a client and then have a pamper party to do so won't get finished till 6ish tonight. Then the mad catch up begins whilst i catch up with a load of paper work due in on Monday and get up to date with O.U stuff that i am now thuroughly behind on. Guess i know what i will be doing this weekend then!
