DRO-Godiva's Journey

Hi Diva.
Someone once told me `worrying about something won`t make any difference or make it go away`.
You`ve done all you can do & its out of your hands for now. Why not have a `no debt worry` day tomorrow. Go somewhere nice...take sandwiches & a flask & just enjoy being outside!!
Post on Monday & as I say....you`ve done your bit for now.....you deserve a day off.
Take care Honey,

Hi Godiva
Well done finishing the letters, one step nearer the end, I'm wandering round like headless chicken as well, it is so hard to concentrate with all the worry, but we will be able to help calm others on their DRO journeys.
Take care

Well here I am again - many ups and downs over the last week. After completing all the forms for a DRO, I now find that I do not qualify for one. I have a couple of small works pensions, so they count me out!!
So...gathered myself together and have booked my appointment with Chesterfield CC for 9am on 5th June for Bankruptcy......Gotta get my money together, and fill in the forms and now just go for it... At least I have a date now, and can go forward.0 -
Well moved on again this week.
Confirmed with Co-op account that it will not be frozen when i go BR, so thats a relief.
Had my first chasing phonecall from HSBC. They said that they have the right to make 3 calls a day, even though i made a formal request in writing that they should only contact me by letter!! Anyway they refused my offer of a minimal payment, and said that they will wait till end of May before phoning me again to see if i can make a better offer. They will however not freeze interest or charges. What a surprise  !
Anyway my court date is June 5th, so happy with that. I will just unplug the phone
Both RBS and NatWest wrote to me and will be in contact.
Have filled in 3/4 of my Bankruptcy application form now, so just the last bit to do.
Onwards and upwards!!0 -
Sorry to hear about you DRO failing. I must admit the more i hear the more i think they are so hard to qualify that the only real reason for bothering with them would be the fact thats its only £90 and not £510 now for BR.
Good on you though for moving on to BR quickly i did the same when i found out that an IVA was hopeless for me.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

Well the news is that I qualify for a DRO. The pensions dilema has been solved and i am now going ahead. I have 2 things to do - cancel my bankcruptcy hearing date at court, and cancel my application with NDL. I couldn't afford to wait any longer, so i phoned baines and Ernst, spoke directly to the intermediary who went through everything, and now the button has been pressed. I am waiting now for conformation that I have it - fingers crossed.
I have been most impressed with NDL and their supportive attitude, but it does take ages, therefore my decision was to go to Baines and Ernst, as i was near my £15k limit. I know that they have a mixed reputation, but I found the intermediary brilliant - very helpful and quick. I had all my info and SOA ready, and so everything was done in an hour, not the 6 weeks that the debt charities are offering. I can highly recommend them for a quick turnround on a DRO.
Waiting now for Friday so that I can check if i have got it!!!!!0 -
