  • Well....not a good ending I'm afraid to say! The manager did ring me back an offered to give me a £10 gift card as compensation, I was about to accept, but then she went on to say "I should consider myself very lucky, tesco don't usually offer any compensation etc etc........LUCKY (!) well I lost the plot!
Told her it wasnt good enough, was gonna take it further etc.....she was like "Whatever...." Bye...................!!!! (she was sooooo cocky it was untrue!)

Rang back to cs, spoke to lady there, explained prob, she said there WAS a note on system for Manager to ring, and now she would ring her to find out what had happened. She rang me back ( a little shaky!) saying that the message had definately not gone through to the branch comp! Manager had obviously shouted her down too!
10 mins later after aksing for a complaints address, she could only give me a FREEPOST one, I spoke to a team leader. ;)

He was nice but said all he could do was offer me £20 card. He wasnt gonna give me the address I needed if I accepted the offer. SO i told him that £20 was no good I wanted THAT address!!!.............................He gave it me!

Why, Oh WHy did I tell him I didn't want the £20, (cut me nose off to spite my face) springs to mind. So now I have an address for Customer Complaints Cheif Exec, but havent got the strength in me, so even begin a letter!!!

Oh well, serves me right (got that in, b4 you lot do  ) - we live and learn!

Sainsburys automatically give you a £10 voucher if they are late.

Obviously you want more than that. Maybe you could argue for £10 for each time they advised you delivery would occur and which was then missed.
  • Hey matto,

No way, - didn't know that!

    Absolutely, pot o' gold.

Ask for help on writing the letter, there are many people on these forums who write fantasic complaint letters for people to amend. Just list out each step of the situation, taking out the emotion. Tesco's won't get better if the powers that be don't know there is an issue. I know they may not do much about it, but they should offer some form of apology. Then do you shopping through another supermarket.

You've just reminded me of the FANTASTIC service Ocado provide for Waitrose. I must pop over to the Fantastic service board sometime to write about that. They'd get my service again.

Good luck, and go through with it.

This is the problem when a large company takes customers for granted they forget its customers that keep them in business.

I would take this further and write to head office, I don't think a tenner begrudging given to is in anyway compensation. Yes money isn't everything, had they not had such a attitude with you and called you first thing this morning and apoligise and and perhaps a tenner then it would of been okay, but its the attitude that would get up my back up.

I would go else where from now on they are taking the Michael.

I ain't a friend of Tesco's either one think I despise the company for the stranglehold they had on my home town some years back, thankfully its now changed. I also take disabled people shopping and we have no end of problems getting them round the store, and no where for old folks to sit down whilst we wait for transport. They took seats down because of scum who wreck on store on a evening, perhaps they shouldn't open 24/7 then and rif raff wouldnt be able to go in for the drink/fags and whatever thye like to do.

Bah this thread is annoying me now too, not the OP but Tesco's. I would genuine help you and take you shopping if you lived locally to help you out, I am a regular take people shopping person now, lol.

Sorry to hear you've been having a bad time with Tesco. I used to use them all the time before I got a car and rairly had any problems; I'd get the odd late delivery, but only 10-15 minutes after they were supposed to be there.

But, like you, I'm currently sans car and have had to fall back on Tesco for home delivery. I've got one coming between 2100-2300 tonight so hope they turn up!

Send them a stinking letter. But, a polite, stinking letter! ;) Let us know how you get on with them.

I posted on the other thread, but plug away Pot! One of the most infuriating aspects I've had with them it the "whatever" attitude. I seriously hope you get some action (oh and find out if any of the other supers deliver to your area!)

Well, I don't believe it...I jinxed myself!

At 2255 I decided to call Tesco Customer Service as, guess what? No delivery! He checked it out and said, "It looks like some orders have been cancelled and one of them seems to have been yours" Eh? Pardon? "I'm very sorry." Not as sorry as the "Home Delivery Manager" is gonna be tomorrow!

What's that address pot 'o' gold?
