they look the same prices as here. thing is regrding the market deciding affordability- the increase of private rent by those claiming housing benefits has effected this greatly... eg, working in a drop-in centre we were amazed one day when a guy came in asking for advice about his bedsit/ living conditions. he had taken pics on his mobile- to say it was appalling was an understatement. he (or rather the local authority) was paying a rate of £100pw for a tiny squalid room.

I'm not shocked either - that's about the going rate where I live.Debt 30k in 2008.:eek::o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Speaking of which, have you seen the prices of crosses recently? I went to look at a large wooden one last week that I was going to be nailed to for a while but it was £600 a month. Crazy money. And you have to supply your own nails.0 -
